"Now eat," Zecky ordered as soon as he sat in front of the vacant chair in front of me. Katatapos niya lang siguro magluto since naka-man bun nanaman siya at naka-itim na apron. Ang dami niyang pagkain na hinanda sa table, iisa lang naman ako na pakakainin niya. "What kind of medicine do you need?" he suddenly asked.
I look at him. "Nasa hospital na tayo kanina, hindi ka pa doon nagtanong." I then rolled my eyes at him. "And seriously Zecky? Haven't you experienced this yet?" I looked at him.
"We don't have the same immune system, Demi. I don't know if what works for me also works for you," he shrugged. "Oh wait, you should know that because basically, you're the doctor here." He pointed at me.
The fuck?
"Dinala mo lang ba ako dito para insultuhin?" masungit kong tanong sa kanya at sumandal sa kinauupuan ko. Mas lalo lang sasama ang pakiramdam ko kung gaganituhin niya ako. "Because if yes, aalis na lang ako."
"No. Don't leave." He shook his head. "Eat now and tell me what you need."
"You're not the boss of me Zechario."
"Oh really, Demetria?" He crossed his arms. Taunting me.
I rolled my eyes and stood up.
But then I realized, I haven't brought anything with me.
Fuck.
"See? Now sit and eat with me."
I took a deep breathe before I sat again. Nakakainis. Bakit ba ganito siya ngayon? Nakakaasar presence niya ngayon sa totoo lang.
I watch how he remove his apron, leaving his upper body with his white shirt. Aircon naman 'tong diner niya pero hindi ko alam kung bakit biglang ang init-init ng pakiramdam ko. So, I decided to remove my white coat as well, leaving me with my gray short-sleeved bodycon dress just below my knees.
I saw Zecky pursing his lips, trying to stifle himself from smiling.
In which he looked weird.
"What?" I asked him while I put my coat on the other side of my couch.
"Nothing." He bit his lip.
"Then why do you look so weird?"
"Me? Weird?" He pointed himself. "Of course not."
"You are." I pointed at him using my fork.
"It's just..." He scratched his nape, looking at the food in front of us. "We looked like we're having a date."
My face heated. Napaiwas ako ng tingin sa kanya, I tried to look like it didn't affect me before I face him again.
"Dream on," I said and stuffed my mouth with food.
I tasted everything dahil sayang naman ang effort niya.
"I never stopped dreaming," he stated.
"Whatever," I said and continued to eat. Ayokong intindihin yung mga sinasabi niya.
