As we reached the top floor of the tower where he lives. We went outside the elevator, holding each other's hand. I couldn't help but roll my eyes whenever I glance at him.
He's smiling like a freaking innocent.
Parang hindi nagsalita sa loob ng elevator ng mga kahalayan niya. Natigil lang ako sa pag-iisip nang may sumalubong sa amin na staff.
Zecky seemed to know the lady dahil dire-diretso kami sa loob nung resto. It was roofless, giving us a fine view of the city's skyline.
The staff left us as soon as we reached the table Zecky reserved for us and when we are finally settled on our seats, we both waited for our food to arrive.
"You have your own diner Zecky, bakit hindi mo na lang ako doon dinala?" I suddenly asked.
"Your breakfast, lunch, and dinner," he enumerated while counting his fingers. "All came from my diner, hindi ka ba nagsasawa?"
"Bakit ako magsasawa? E libre yun?" I asked.
His playful smile fell.
I laughed.
"Joke lang," bawi ko. "Masarap kasi luto mo, paano ako dun magsasawa?"
I honestly want to admit to him that I missed his cooking a lot. In fact nung pinagbubuntis ko si Arren, I found myself craving for his dishes. I once remember that time na kahit hindi ko siya makausap ng matino, kapag humiling ako sa kanya na magluto siya - magluluto talaga siya.
Natatawa na lang ako kasi that time, both of us were not aware that we're already feeding our child.
At some point, we became a family before.
Hindi lang kami aware.
Upon remembering those moments, bigla ko nanaman naalala yung sinabi ni Mavy kanina.
And again.
I couldn't help but wonder.
But I'm certain that I didn't give Zecky a chance just for Arren. I know, I also gave him a chance for me.
Not just a chance to rewrite our ending.
But a chance to prove himself that he deserves to be loved by me.
After all, this wouldn't work if the two of us are complicated.
Because I'd rather choose to raise Arren alone if Zecky really had a kid with Aleesa. I already made up my mind not to settle being just the second-best when it comes to him.
I know I deserve more just as much as Arren deserves.
"Have you ever miss me?" Zecky suddenly asked.
I was about to answer when the serving staff interrupted us. Nakatingin lang ako sa kanya habang nakikipag-usap siya doon sa nagse-serve na sa tingin ko ay kakilala niya. Zecky was all smiles but I know something's off with that smile.
