Chapter Two: Aang's Dance Party

Makki |~|

After Aang's big runaway, we decided that it would be a good idea to blend into the Fire Nation and wait until it was time for The Day of Black Sun invasion. Sokka recalled a sizeable Fire Nation island just south of the small island we were previously on. Disguised as a cloud, we flew to a secluded part of the Fire Nation island and landed by a large cave that we could stay in.

"Shh... keep quiet," Sokka commanded.

Aang made our disguise disappear and Sokka quickly jumped down to the ground to check and see if anyone was nearby to see us.

"Great job with the cloud camo, but next time, let's disguise ourselves as the kind of cloud who knows how to keep its mouth shut," Sokka folded his arms.

"Please, Sokka, you've got the biggest mouth of all of us," I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, and we wouldn't want a bird to hear us chatting up there and turn us in," said Toph, sarcastically.

"Hey! We're in enemy territory. Those are enemy birds," Sokka pointed to the birds that sat above him on the rock he was behind.

One of the birds hopped down onto his head and softly squawked at us. We all lightly laughed at him before starting to walk into the cave. Sokka quickly dove in front of us to lead the way, as if someone could jump out at us at any moment.

"...Well, this is it," Sokka faced us. "This is how we'll be living until the invasion begins. Hiding in cave after cave after cave... after cave... after cave."

"Sokka, we don't need to become cave people," said Katara. "What we need is some new clothes."

"Yeah, blending in is better than hiding out," Aang agreed. "If we get Fire Nation disguises we'll be just as safe as we would be hiding in a cave."

"Plus, they have real food out there," Toph said from her seat against the wall. "Does anyone wanna sit in the dirt and eat cave-hoppers?"

Toph hit her hand against the cave's wall and a few cave-hoppers came jumping out. Momo quickly grabbed one and stuffed it into his mouth.

"That's two votes against four," I said.

"...Looks like we got outvoted, sport," Sokka said to Momo. "Let's get some new clothes."

Together, we headed out of the cave and found a small Fire Nation home that had a large amount of clotheslines by it.

"I don't know about this," said Aang. "These clothes belong to somebody."

"I call the silk robe!" Katara exclaimed before running over to the clothes.

"Hmph... Then I get the long-sleeved crop..!" I called as I ran towards the hanging clothes.

All of us ran through the clotheslines, grabbing what we wanted. When we all got our outfits, we quickly got changed behind some rocks.

"Ta-dah, normal kid," said Aang as he showed off his new outfit.

"Hmm, I should probably wear shoes but then I won't be able to see as well... Sorry shoes," Toph thought before taking a seat and ripping the soles and bottoms off of her shoes. "Finally, a stylish shoe for the blind earth bender."

"How do I look?" Katara asked as she emerged from a rock, decorated in Fire Nation clothing.

"...Uh, your mom's necklace," said Aang.

"Oh... oh, yeah," Katara said as she placed a hand on the necklace.

...Yeah, I had to move my necklace into a pocket on my new clothes... I don't know why, but I have a feeling that I need to always keep it on me... as much as I hate it.
