Chapter XLII

Jennie's POV

Kasalukuyan akong nasa living room while waiting for Lisa to come home.

It's already midnight pero wala pa rin siya. Kanina pa nakauwi sina Jisoo and Rosé. Tulog na nga ata sila eh. But here I am, still waiting for my love to come home.

I wanted to tell Lisa a very great news that happened to me earlier at school.

I got the highest score in the exams and my professor told me that I'll be one of the representatives to represent the school for the upcoming year-end examination sa Osaka along with other top students in the university.

It's like the old times when I was still in Korea but now it's different, before I feel complete. I feel confident because someone always reminding me that I'm great and I can be more than that.

Now, it's like I'm an incomplete set of puzzle and I can't find the missing piece.

Because she's pretty much occupied with something else.

My head immediately turned to look at the door when I heard someone open it.

I excitedly stood up when I realized who it was. An immediate sweet smile form upon my face when I saw Lisa.

"Welcome home, Lili." I happily said as I ran to hug her.

She looked at me and frowned. "Why are you still awake? It's pretty late, Nini." I smiled when I felt her hug me back.

Oh gad, this feels so great. It's been a long time since I last hug her.

"I waited for you." I pouted.

She gently pushed me away and stared at my eyes. "I told you to sleep early, baby. You still have an early class tomorrow." She let go of the hug and started to walk.

I followed her. "But I have good news for you."

"I'm sorry, Nini but I'm so exhausted. I just want to lay on my bed." She lazily said without looking at me.

I weakly smiled at her back since her back is facing me. "It's okay, Lili. I'll just.. uh, have you eaten?" I tried to change the topic.

Maybe I'll just tell her about it again tomorrow. She's pretty tired.

She walked back to me before she reaches the stairs as she speaks. "Yeah. I ate with Mina earlier. I'm heading to my room now. Go to sleep." She said and gave a quick peck on my head then walked back to the stairs.

Yep, quick. As in parang hindi man lang dumapo yung labi niya sa buhok ko.

"I love you, Lisa." I whispered softly.

I bit my lower lip to stop myself from crying.

I don't know what's happening but I feel so empty. It's like she's distancing herself from me. Bakit parang pakiramdam ko ang layo layo na niya? Ilang hakbang lang naman ang layo ng kwarto ko sa kanya pero bakit parang hindi ko na siya kilala?

A conclusion starting to form in my head but I quickly shook my it away.

No. Lisa loves me. She's just working with her. She promised me na ako lang and I'm holding on to that.

"Lili, what do you want to eat? I'll cook it for you." I asked Lisa pagkalapit ko sa kanya mula sa kitchen.

She's sitting on the couch with her laptop on her lap. She's too focused on what she is currently doing.

It's her day off today at sakto naman na wala kaming pasok kaya magkakaroon ako ng time to be with Lisa for the whole day.
