Switched

Chapter 3

I visit a couple of more families but none have a daughter that isn't there's. But one day I got on the bus to go visit a family but I actually told Kelly and Randy that I was going shopping.

The bus stopped across the road from the house. The house wasn't as maintained as the other homes I visited but if it was my real home I didn't care.

I knocked on the door and somebody opened it and shouted "come in", and skipped off to the kitchen.

I walked in and looked in the sitting room to see four children running around. I continue walking and I walk past the kitchen where a woman is feeding a baby it's bottle and a man is washing the dishes. There is also two toddlers walking around.

I knock on the door and walk into the kitchen.

"Hello", the woman says. "Are you the babysitter"? Before I could answer the man turned around and said "Hello".

"Em no I'm not the babysitter but I'm here for something important". I sit down at the table and the man and woman follow me.

I take a deep breath. "Do you have a fifteen year old daughter?"

"Yes we do would you like to see her?" The woman asks. I nod my head.

"Kayla come down here?", the man calls. The girl walks into the kitchen she has blonde hair blue eyes and a beauty mark all like Paige.

"Hi", Paige mumbles.

"Hey", Kayla says unsure of who she was talking to because she never met me before.

"Could you sit down please?", I ask. "What's your names"? I ask the man and woman.

"Robert", the man replies.

"Evelyn", the woman says.

"Okay Robert and Evelyn did your daughter get switched at birth?"

They both look over at Kayla and then she realises what's going on and her eyes fill with tears. Robert and Evelyn nod their heads. Kayla stands up and runs to her room.

I run after and knock on her door.

"Kayla could you please open the door. I know what your going through because I was switched at birth also and... I think I was switched with you".

Kayla opens her door. "When's your birthday?"

"It was two weeks ago on the first of November".

"Same", she mumbles.

"Kayla we were switched at birth", I say.

"What is the name of my family?" She asks.

"Hyland. Randy is the father Kelly is the mother Brooke is the oldest she is seventeen and Josh is sixteen. Will you tell me about my family",I ask.

"Well there's Ryan he's 19, Natalie 17, Aaron 12 Laura is 10 Riley is 8 Aidan is 6 Eve and Kian are 2 and Vicent is 1", she says.

"Wow".
