mark was kind of surprised when he saw that donghyuck interacted with the lovebot. he even asked for a few things, which honestly made the older very happy. at least he knows his crush likes the somewhat cute gift.

now was his chance to start getting close with donghyuck. they were mutual friends and sometimes hung out together with their friends, but that was pretty much it. mark thought that maybe if they were a little closer, it would bring up his chances of not getting rejected.

as a matter of fact, it was the perfect time for him to talk to the boy, since it looked like they were going the same place; the cafeteria.

he quickened his pace as he saw donghyuck's strides become a little longer, probably because he didn't want to waste anytime getting to eat.

"hey donghyuck!" he called as he reached the said boy.

he replied with a small hi and a smile to which the older gladly returned. "you must be going to lunch?" mark mentally face palmed as those words left his mouth— of course he was going to lunch, mark.

"haha yeah," he said as he gripped the straps on his bookbag, "i actually didn't bring too much to eat today- only a sandwich and a juice," he pouted and mark almost instantly melted at the sight.

"well if you're still hungry i could share with you? it's not a big deal," he tried to sound at least a little bit cool. donghyuck giggled at the male beside him and turned his view back in front of him.

"you don't have too, i should've woken up earlier— oh we're here," both boys stopped at the opening of the cafeteria.

"do you maybe want to have lunch together, donghyuck?" he smiled as his ears grew bright red.

"sure!" the younger grabbed mark's wrist and led him to his table, which was already filled with his three friends.

"hey hyuck, brought a friend?" jaemin smirked as he looked up from his phone to which renjun elbowed him in his side, causing him to groan.

chenle waved his hand in the air, motioning for mark not to worry about their friend, "mark! long time no see."

"yeah, i haven't seen you with jisung in a while," the eldest said as he sat down at donghyuck's table.

"mhm," chenle nodded his head, "we've both been busy," he smiled again. "ah," mark nodded.

they sat down for a few minutes and talked before they saw mark's friends enter the room. both boys shared a confused looked while seeing mark at donghyuck's table. had he finally made a move? it was about time.

donghyuck saw the boys and smiled towards their direction, "mark, why don't you call your friends over?" he asked sweetly.

the black haired male sighed as he raised his hand, signaling for his friends to come sit with them.

the pair smiled suggestively at their friend as they got closer to the table, only to be ignored.

"jisung!" chenle squealed as he saw the male coming to sit next to him. "hi lele," he chuckled as he hugged the shorter and placed a small kiss on his cheek.

"woah woah woah— are you guys... like, together?" jeno asked as he sat next to jaemin. both boys blushed and looked at one another, and then back to their friends.

"something like that," chenle said, while blushing even more— if that's even possible. jisung grabbed chenle's hand and squeezed it, while smiling at him.

a bunch of screams could be heard from the table, mainly jaemin, jeno, and renjun.

"you have to tell us the details! i can't believe you never told us!" jaemin said eagerly, and his friends agreed.

donghyuck just giggled at his friends while sipping his juice, and mark was internally cooing over how cute he was being.

"a-are you sure you have enough to eat, donghyuck?" he said, distracting the other male from their group. donghyuck nodded cutely as he took another sip of his drink, "thanks for asking though."

"mhm..." mark hummed as he watched the rest of the table squeal at how cute the new found couple was being. he then looked back at donghyuck and wished that they would soon be that way too.
