I'm on my way to this restaurant na malapit sa HAU. I received a text from Andre kanina. I arrived a bit early. In-assist ako ng waiter kung saan ang reserved seat for us. Few minutes later, Andre arrived. He looks so good sa kanyang sky blue polo na naka roll up pa ung sleeves up to his elbows. He smiled at me bago umupo sa harap ko. Everything seems pretty ordinary until he asks the waiter for an extra chair to be placed beside him. Napakunot ang noo ko.
"We're expecting someone pa. Actually..."
"Jagi..." A beautiful Korean woman suddenly appears in front of us. "Am I late?" she asked.
Tumayo si Andre at bineso ang babae. He looks at her like she's the most beautiful woman sa buong mundo. Nang makaupo na ang babae, umupo na rin siya sa pwesto niya. What is happening? Although I have an idea kung sino siya pero bakit ako nandito?
"Chloe, I want you to meet my girlfriend, Sena. Actually, marunong din siya magtagalog since she lives here in Manila for almost 15 years."
Hindi ko alam kung ano ang mararamdaman ko ngayon. Am I betrayed? Dapat ba akong magalit? Tinignan ko ang baso ng tubig sa harapan ko. My arms are dying to hold that glass of water. Don't get me wrong ha. Hindi ko naman ibubuhos sa kanila. Gusto ko lang uminom. Parang bigla akong inuhaw sa mga nagaganap.
"Oh. Girlfriend? Ahh... Hello, Sena. Nice to meet you." I said and smiled.
Fake smile to be exact. I glance at her. Halatang mayaman si ate mo girl. Sa damit at accessories palang na suot niya halata ko na and the way kung paano siya makakapit sa braso ni Andre. Clingy. Napaka clingy. I bet wala pang 6 months ang relationship nila. Don't me, been there, done that.
The girl starts to talk to him in korean na para bang wala ako sa harap nila. I can see from Andre's face na medyo naiilang siya. He answers him in tag-lish but she keeps on speaking in korean.
"So! Sena, gaano ka tagal na kayo ni Andre?" I said. Yes, I did that. Sumingit talaga ako sa pagsasalita niya.
"2 months palang but so far we're enjoying each other's company." Andre responded. Napataas nalang ang kilay ko. Like what? I'm asking the girl, not you. She ignored me. She definitely ignored me.
"Oh I see. So, where did you meet? And how? Kwentuhan nyo naman ako."
Finally, the girl spoke. She's on vacation daw sa Seoul two months ago then he met Andre by chance and that's where it all started. Okay. I guess, love at first sight? Hmm... As far as I can see, mukhang masaya naman si Andre. I suddenly remembered the past where Zeke and I celebrated our 2nd month of being together. Alam mo yung ang lakas maka teenager. Gosh, Chloe, stop it! Gusto mo bang maiyak sa harap nila?
"I see. Maybe I should go so you can have a good time together. I'll see you around?" Pagkasabi ko ay tumayo na ako.
Andre stood up and mukhang pipigila pa ako but I said no and sinabi ko nalang na may appointment pa ako...kahit wala naman. Before I reach the exit, I glance at them. Pinaupo na niya si Sena sa inupuan ko and he called the waiter, probably to order some food. Food. Napahawak ako sa tummy ko nung may marinig akong tunog coming from there. Gutom na ako. Sana pala nakikain muna ako bago umalis. Just kidding.
Naglakad lakad nalang muna ako sa labas. Hindi ko namalayang nasa harap na pala ako ng HAU. Napahinto ako. Ang daming memories ang bumalik. Nakita kong bukas ang gate, so I entered. Ang dami na ring nagbago simula nung gruma-duate kami. Umupo ako sa gitna ng quadrangle. Tinanggal ko ang heels ko at inilapag ang purse ko sa tabi nito.
Lumingon ako sa paligid, walang tao. So I screamed.
"MGA PAASA!"
Ang sarap sa feeling. Parang nailabas ko na lahat ng sama ng loob ko nitong mga nakaraang buwan.
"Drunk girl?"
Shookt. A man's voice suddenly caught my attention. Am I just hearing things? Pero parang totoo eh. Don't tell me, totoo ang kwento noon na may multo dito sa campus? I heard his footsteps walking towards me. Pumikit ako and starts to pray... for my safety.
"It's you! Finally! Masisingil na kita for the damaged that you've done in my car!" he said.
Wait. Damaged? I opened my eyes and surprised to see Zeke in front of me. He was my boyfriend for years pero I can't help na ma-starstruck pa rin sa kanya everytime he gets closer to me. Snap out of it, Chloe! Hindi ka na nga nya naaalala 'diba?
"B-Bakit? Ano ba ginawa ko sa kotse mo?" I asked.
"You can't remember? or you pretend not to remember?" he was furious.
Napakamot nalang ako sa ulo ko. Then memories from that night starts to comeback. Ibig sabihin, siya ang nagdala sa akin sa hotel?
"Wait! Ikaw yung..."
"Exactly! Now, pay me."
Pinagsasasabi nito? Tsk! I am about to say something nang may biglang pumatak sa balikat ko. Napatingin ako sa itaas then it began to rain hard.
"Oh my god!" we both exclaimed.
Kaagad kong kinuha ang heels at purse ko saka tumakbo. Hindi ko namalayan na I'm following him. Papunta siya sa kanyang kotse na nakaparada sa gilid. Kaagad ko ring binuksan ang kabilang pinto at saka pumasok. I'm shookt but I had no choice. But he was more shookt to see me there.
"Bakit ka nandito? Stalker ka talaga 'no?" he said.
"Kapal na mukha mo. Kung alam mo lang kung gaano ka ka-inlove sa akin noon. Hmmp..." I murmured.
"What did you say?"
"Wala! Sabi ko mukha kang basang sisiw!" I laughed.
He rolled his eyes then may kinuha siya sa backseat. Jacket and a plain white shirt na mukhang bagong laba pa.
"Here, wear this. I can see what's inside those white dress that you're wearing dahil sa ulan."
Napakunot ang noo ko sa sinabi niya until I saw na sobrang see through na pala ng damit ko and kitang kita na ang undergarments ko because of the white dress. Kasalanan talaga ni Andre to eh! Sh*t!
Kaagad kong sinuot ang jacket. Then I took a quick glance of him. Hinubad niya ang suot niyang shirt saka nagpalit ng clean white shirt. Gosh, I miss those broad shoulders of him. Palihim kong kinurot ang sarili ko para gisingin sa katotohanan.
Pero I was thinking, should I try to remind him of the memories that we had? I think this is the chance to tell him kung sino ako sa buhay niya.
