I was on my way to Austin's house for our movie night. We didn't hang out today because he had family friends over from Florida. All I knew about them was they had a daughter our age. As I walked up the driveway I noticed a car I didn't recognize so I guessed the friends were still here. I let myself in and followed the noise from the kitchen.
"Remember when you and Austin got sprayed by a skunk but you didn't tell us so instead of bathing in tomato sauce you guys drank it?" An unfamiliar voice said.
I rounded the corner and walked in to see Austin and Ms.Mahone along with three other people I didn't recognize.
"Alexa nice to see you" Ms.Mahone greeted me.
"Hi" I simply said. Austin got up from his chair and greeted me with a kiss on the cheek.
"Guys this is Alexa, Alexa these are our friends from Florida." Austin introduced us. We greeted each other and they continued their conversation. I awkwardly stood there as they were talking about old memories.
"Austin can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked nodding towards the living room. We excused ourselves and walked into the living room.
"So no movie night tonight?" I whispered so everyone else couldn't hear us.
"Oh shoot I totally forgot about that!" Austin exclaimed.
"It's fine we can do it another day" I said putting a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry you can stay here or go home if you think you'll be bored" Austin said looking at the kitchen entrance making me feel like he wanted to be in there instead of here.
"Uh I think I'll just go home." I said putting my hand back to my side and taking a step back.
"Are you mad?"
"No" I said. I nodded to the kitchen letting him know he could go back in. He gave me a quick kiss and ran back into the kitchen.
After getting home from Austin I texted Zach to see if he could hang out. He said sure and that's how we ended up at Starbucks.
"Zach" I groaned.
"What?"
"Why does it matter if she's cute or not?" I asked. I told Zach what happened at Austin's house and the first thing he asked was 'Was the girl cute?'
"I don't know. I want to see if you're jealous." He said taking a sip of his drink.
"Why would I be jealous? I'm just upset he forgot but it's whatever"
"You're so in love with him I can't even" Zach said in a girly voice. I chuckled and threw my straw wrapper at him.
"I'm just saying you get upset when you can't hang out with him for one night. Imagine what happens when you go to college"
"Don't even remind me!" I said sadly. Even though all of us were going to take a year off from school I still could not stop thinking about the future.
"Don't worry we have a lot of time left" I smiled at him and reminded myself I shouldn't stress out just yet.
I woke up the next morning to someone knocking at my door. I chose to ignore it hoping the person behind the door will take a hint and leave.
"Alexa" I heard Austin say from the other side of the door.
"Austin it's noon o'clock some people are trying to sleep" I groggily said. Austin walked into my room laughing and I evilly glared at him.
"What do you want?" I groaned out grabbing a pillow and putting in on top of my face.
"I want to make it up to you" He said. He laid himself down on the side of the bed that wasn't occupied and grabbed me and shoved me closer to him.
"Make what up?" I said taking the pillow away from my face and putting my head on Austin's chest.
"For yesterday when I ditched you" He started playing with my hair which made me want to go to sleep even more.
"You didn't ditch me it's fine" I replied back my eyes beginning to close.
"Alexa don't go back to sleep" Austin begged.
"Please just give me 5 more minutes." I begged also.
Austin groaned
"Fine only because I love you"
He kissed the top of my head and I drifted off to sleep.
