Chapter 22

**JACK**

Jane was acting really strange today, half way through the wedding she was looking around at the visitors and shaking her head now and then but when she looked up at us she stared at me I thought she could see me for a second but I was wrong, when I was walking out of the church I went up to her to see if she could see me but she just walked strait through me like everyone else at the wedding but her friend Navi she came up to me just as Jane was running to the slay with the flowers she caught,

"Hi Jack"

She said with a smile,

"Hi"

I mumbled sadly,

"I know why your so sad, its Jane isn't it"

I nod trying not to be rude it was her wedding day I didn't want to upset her,

"She tolled me"

My sadness turned into shock,

"What!?"

I looked at her with hope in my eyes,

"She came to my house and tolled me all about it, I tolled her your name but she didn't respond in the way I was expecting her to"

I frowned again and turned from her,

"Jack"

She said sofltybut I ignored and started to fly of,

"Your forgetting something"

I turned to her and she smiled holding out her clenched fist in front of her, I flew down to her level and she tock my hand and placed something in it from her fist, she closed my hand,

"You don't have to wait much longer"

She smiled and picked up her dress and turned and walked to her family. I led of the slay end on the edge and stared at my fist, I still haven't looked what Navi had placed in it, opened my fist slowly but the slay jolted in the air and I dropped the item and it fell from high up, I panicked and turned to bunny,

"I'm going to fly the rest of the way back"

Before bunny could reply I darted through the air down racing the object to the ground. I just grabbed it before it hit the roof of a house, I looked at the object and I was confused... It was the ring but it was glowing white and blue oddly I examined it for awhile before I was jolted back by the sight of black sand, I quickly shoved the ring into my pocket and held my staff in front of me ready to fight,

"Oh Jack why must you always presume I want to fight?"

Pitch sniggered appearing from the dark cloud of black sand and landing on the roof of the house,

"What do you want pitch?"

I snapped stepping back,

"Just to check how Jane tock her past"

"You knew it would hurt her!"

I shouted but he just laughed,

"Oh I knew it would hurt her but I also knew that it would drive her farther away from you Jack"

He smiled evilly but he stopped and stared in horror at my pocket as it glowed brighter and brighter,

"It can't be"

He hissed as I pulled out the ring,

"Only when she fully believes... No!"

He shouted,

"What! What do you mean?"

I growled stepping forth,

"Only when she believes fully the ring will permently stay on her"

He said fear glazing in his eyes as he turned and ran into a black sand cloud and vanished. I rushed back to the shop if what pitcjsaid was true then Jane must be able to believe in me again, I burst through the door and shouted,

"Jane!"

My shouting echoed through the shop all the elves stopped and looked at me as I flew through the shop shouting her name,

"Jack?"

A voice called,

"Jane!"

I flew into norths office to see North, Tooth and Jane who was still wearing her bridesmaids dress,

"Jane?"

I asked putting my hand out to her shoulder,

"Jack"

Tooth whispered as she stopped my hand and shock her head,

"Its no use"

"What's no use?"

Jane stood up and walked through me to Tooth,

"No use to-to-to get this child to floss"

She said awkwardly playing with one of the memory tubes with the baby tooth's smiling sweetly,

"Ok?"

She turned and sat back down. He lied I knew it he was just lowing me down to put me of my guard,

"Forget this... Forget you"

I whispered to Jane and dropped the ring onto norths desk,

"Jack?"

North said placing his hand of my shoulder but I just brushed him of and turned away with my head down as slowly flew out of shop to the roof to cry once more.
