Chapter 5

**JANE**

I sat next to the fire place with a blanket over me as sandy was healing my cheek from Jacks ice blast, I don't know what happened but I do know that it ruined the moment. North was speaking to him well more like whispering, they were trying not to let me know what they were saying but I could hear every word of it,

"So how did this happen again?"

North asked crossing his arms,

"We were skating on a frozen lake together and I went out of control and accidentally blasted her"

Jack lied rubbing his neck awkwardly, North sighed and walked over to me kneeling down,

"Be carful around him"

He stood up and walked away, sandy gave me a thumbs up and floated away with North. Jack came up to me but not close,

"Im so sorry for what happened"

"It's ok Jack, but what happened?"

"I guess I lost control"

I looked away from him staring at the fire thinking about had happened,

"Can I be alone, to rest?"

Jack nodded and left but glancing at me then left. Bunny walked into the room not long after spinning his boomerang as he walked, he noticed me and walked over,

"Hay why do you look so down in the dumps?"

He asked kneeling down next to me,

"Jack hurt me... but on accident though!"

I sighed and rubbed my cheek,

"That bleady old snow man!"

Bunny growled,

"How about I take your mind of things"

"How?"

Bunny tossed his boomerang back sending it flying picking up the elf and caring it over to us, he cached the boomerang but letting the elf fly into me,

"A bit of combat"

The poor elf looked dizzy and confused it stood up and walked away tipsy,

"So how about it mate? A bit of combat will take your mind of it"

"Well... ok!"

I stood up letting the blanket fall to the floor and followed Bunny outside. We stood in a flat area covered in snow,

"This is good enough"

He thumped his foot three times and snow ovals came up from the ground,

"Don't be mistaken by them under the snow is soled rock"

He nocked on one of them to show me, he walked back into position and pulled out two boomerangs and flung them slicing through the stone making a perfect cut,

"Wow!"

My mouth dropped in amazement,

"Thanks mate, now your turn"

"What am I supposed to use?"

He gestured his arms out to the factory and the land,

"Anything"

I looked down at a long thin stick that was about half the size of me, I remember that I was a cheerleader before I was homeschooled back at the orphanage and I used to twirl the flags on the side so twirling a stick couldn't be any different. I picked it up the stick to test it strength and showed it to bunny,

"That?"

He sniggered trying not to laugh, I smiled evilly and spun the stick on one finger then onto my palm tossing it up and catching it gracefully, I still got the moves from high school, Bunny's mouth slightly dropped wen I did it, I walked over to the oval rocks and pointed at one of the three I looked back at Bunny who was waiting for me to make a move, In the corner of my eye I saw North walk out followed by Jack, Tooth and Sandy stood in the door they all starred at me wondering what was going one, I took a deep breath and spun the stick in my hands side to side then swinging at one of the ovals slicing through it then tossing the stick back into the air and I cartwheeled back and cached slamming one end into the second oval making it crumble, I through the stick back up into the air and did another cartwheel into arrow spring catching and stabbing the stick into the top of the oval braking it and the stick. I placed my hand on my chest catching my breath I could feel my heart beating fast, I looked over at Bunny who had his eyes wide open and is mouth dropped,

"How b-b-but how did you do... THAT!?"

He gasped pointing at the crumbled statues,

"I don't know"

I said walking back to the factory leaving him hopping around the crumbled statues in shock. All the others were in shock to,

"That was amazing!"

"How did you do that?"

Sandy put a question mark on the top of his head and his face was surprised,

"Wow you really are special"

Jack said placing the top of his chin on his staff to rest his head,

"Thanks"

We looked at each other smiling not taking are eyes away from each other,

"Well it's getting dark so we better get going"

North announced clapping his hands together,

"What were?"

He laughed,

"Oh Jane it Christmas Eve night I must deliver the presents"

"We?"

"Me, Tooth, Bunny and sandy"

"Wait what?"

Jack looked away from me as at North in shock,

"Your staying here with Jane"

"But"

He looked at him with a angry glare crossing his arms,

"Fine"

He mumbled rolling his eyes,

"We will just have fun without you guys"

He winked at me and laughed, I joined in laughing before heading inside.
