That was, until the earthbender fell incredibly ill. It was found that she was pregnant, and her body was not dealing with it well. Nine months later, the child was born, and the earthbender passed several days later. When the girl opened her eyes, it was clear something was wrong. One of her eyes was a stunning amber, while the other was a vibrant green. As she grew up, the admiral's fears had been realized. She was not normal. He watched in horror as earth moved to her will, and fire burned with her touch. She couldn't have been the avatar, could she? Had the cycle already moved to the Fire Nation? Nevertheless, he taught her to never use her earthbending, and tied a cloth over her right eye, concealing her heritage from prying eyes. Eight years later, the admiral perished in battle, leaving his nine-year-old daughter in the care of the Firelord and his wife. Instead of treating her like another one of his own, Ozai ordered her to become Zuko's personal attendant, allowing the girl to finally grow up with a new friend.
