the next three entire weeks went by very well for the new girl. she grew much closer to suna, atsumu, and even osamu and aran and kita. she visited their practices when she didn't have practice after school.
talking about practice, hyouta and y/n were quickly progressing on the Caprice Basque. both grew very close to each other, and even started helping each other out on their other pieces. they were like brother and sister.
y/n's life couldn't have gone greater than this.
...
"suna! 'tsum-'tsum is leaving on sunday and today is wednesday. my point is...we still don't have a clue of what to do for his goodbye party!" the h/c girl exclaimed as she sighed.
the now very close friends walked together all the time at break-time, usually with the narcissistic twin tagging along as he hid from the obnoxious fangirls.
"true. how about we go to someone's house?" he took a bite ouf of his matcha kit-kat.
"you can come to my house! should we ask the volley team too?" she took a bite out of her own snack, which was a sandwich ice-cream.
"nah, let's just do it the three of us." he dryly answered as he leaned onto the wall, and turning his head in the direction of the window behind his back.
"hey, i remember you told me you had a nintendo switch, bring it! we can play animal crossing new horizons!" she crouched down next to the boy as she looked up at him, an excited look stuck to her eyes.
"sure, tsum' also has one, we're having a gaming goodbye party." the boy finished one bar of his kit-kat.
"yeah! sounds great, but don't tell him!" she continued to look in his eyes as she put her head on her knees.
the empty classroom they were in felt very peaceful. spring wasn't any soon, but leaves already started to come out of their shells on the lonely, empty trees. the wind outside still blew, making the peoples' hair gently blow in their faces as they spoke. everything was so nice. y/n always enjoyed these moments with suna, without the annoying voice of atsumu.
though she enjoyed atsumu's company in a different way.
{flashback}
"you know, you are someone special to me. whenever i see you, i just feel something spring up in my heart and i just feel happy." the girl said to the blonde boy as she looked into the horizon.
they were both on the rooftop of the school on a friday evening as they watched the sun set, and the sky turn from pink to purple to yellow and orange. everything felt magical, like it was all a dream. the boy and the girl didn't say a word to each other as they simply admired the magnificent view presented in front of them.
"yer' special to me too, y/n-chan."
"thank you, 'tsumu."
"don't worry, i won't." the boy said as he patted the girl's head.
the bell suddenly rang, and the two had to go back to their boring classes.
the girl sat on her wooden, uncomfortable chair next to the window on the third row. the blonde boy was already sitting there, head hidden in arms.
"'tsum-'tsum, as you're leaving for camp with rin' we wanted to do a lil' party with you! do you want to come?" the girl opened her maths book as the teacher entered loudly the room.
"well, obviously. without me ye'd be bored! i mean, i'm the best, y'know darling?" the boy just approached the girl's ear as he whispered.
"more modest than you you die." she dead-panned as she half-listened to the teacher.
the boy didn't bother answering that or he knew this would go on forever.
the teacher just gave questions for the students to do, which she wrote on the over-used black board with chalk that made an abominable sound.
y/n never was good at maths, physics or just any sciences. the complete opposite of atsumu who actually was pretty good at that. opposites attract, don't they?
the poor girl struggled to answer the questions. she kept on sighing to herself as she banged her head on the desk, softly. the boy obviously noticing she sucked at maths, he decided to help her with the questions. they made an agreement she would help him with english, history, literature and art, and he would help her with maths, physics, biology and chemistry. this only made them grow closer. they laughed, chatted, joked, insulted each other and overall grew very close. their relationship grew tremendously as rumors of them dating spread, and gossips from fangirls became louder and louder. but they didn't care for it one bit, they were friends.
well, atsumu wanted to believe that, but whenever he saw her prancing around the empty halls after practice as the sun illuminated her face, emphasizing her magnificent features, his heart skipped beats. he found her special, she grew on him. the way her silky h/c haired swayed from side to side as she ran with him through the empty halls while laughing softly, made him crazy and craving for more. he wanted to be closer to her, no, he needed to be closer to her. but an obstacle came in his way,
his one bestfriend and teammate, suna rintarou.
and soon enough another one would appear. just how many would there be?
...
thursday and friday went by quickly. it was the usual, suna accompanied her home at night and atsumu helped her with the lessons.
she came to their practice, though they never came to hers.
y/n's heart somehow felt weird after meeting these two, even after meeting her now best-friend, hyouta. though, the two volleyball players made something to her heart she couldn't explain with words. she just felt so happy seeing these two around, she enjoyed their company more than anything, they were so different but she adored them both. but who did she feel more things for? she was clueless. questions ran through her head non-stop.
who was she going to choose?
was it a choice she could make?
what would the one do if she chose the other over him?
if she did make a choice...
would history repeat itself like last year?
