Chapter Ten

A few hours later, the Troupe (and you) has gathered in the main room. Chrollo stands up and crosses his arms over his chest. "All right. It is now noon, so we will now assume that Uvo is dead. I know it's hard on some of you, but the best thing to do is to move on." He smiles. "I know that's what he'd want us to do. Anyways, I'm going to head out now. You guys will leave here whenever you decide and then standby until I give the order. Split into groups of two. However you do it doesn't matter to me. You are dismissed." Chrollo then walks out of the room. You sigh. "I guess I'll help you guys with your operation tonight." Phinks frowns. "No one asked." You smirk. "I don't care." You two start to get into it when Nobunaga gets up. "Well, Uvo is dead. He was most likely killed by the Chain User, who is still somewhere in Yorknew City. I'm going to go there to try and lure him out."

"Hold on." Franklin says. "You can't go off by yourself. That's what Uvo did, and he's dead. Take Machi with you." Machi sighs, and the two of them head out to Yorknew. The rest of the Troupe either heads to their rooms or relaxes in the main room. You turn to Shizuku, and the two of you head into your room. You plop on the bed and open your computer. "Wanna finish Kimi Na No Wa?" She nods, and the two of you are glued to the screen (cuz it's a really good movie). The movie ends, and Shizuku bursts into tears. "That movie was so good!" She says, wiping her face on your shirt. You smile, holding back tears of your own. "Yeah. And look at you! A couple months ago you barely ever smiled or frowned, and now you're straight up crying. You're a whole different Shizuku!" She looks up, puzzled. "I am?" You sigh. "I was just kidding."

Suddenly, you hear Feitan and Nobunaga arguing, particularly Nobunaga. "Wanna go check it out?" Shizu nods, and the two of you head into the main room. You see the Troupe is gathered around two boys, one of whom is being held by Feitan. The other is standing behind him, with Hisoka putting him in a headlock. "I want to nominate this boy as a new member of the Troupe!" Nobunaga says with a smile. The boy scowls. "I'll never be one of you! Heartless murderers!" Feitan sighs. "Shut up. Or I'll kill you. Actually, I'm going to ask you one more time. Are you related to the Chain User in any way?" The boy shakes his head. "I already said no! I don't know who you're talking about!"

"Well then," Feitan says. "Let's kill them." Nobunaga frowns. "No. I want to keep them here." Feitan starts to argue back, but Franklin intercepts them. "Stop fighting. Let's just settle this with a coin toss. Nobunaga, what's your call?" "Heads!" Franklin nods, and tosses the coin into the air. He catches it, flips it, and shows it to everyone. "Heads" Nobunaga says with a smile, then takes the boys into another room. Feitan sighs. "All right. Well, now that we're all here, we need to discuss the groups for the operation." The Troupe pairs themselves into groups. You and Shizu are a pair (obviously). Franklin joins your group, as Nobunaga will be staying behind to watch the boys. "All right." Feitan says. "Let's split up. Here are some maps that tell you guys the positions to be in. Once we figure out who goes where, let's head out." Shalnark passes out the maps, and the Troupe (and you) discuss positions.

A few minutes later, you, Franklin, and Shizu head towards your assigned position. You and Shizu are holding hands, while Franklin is in front, leading the way. After a while, the three of you are walking through a park. "We're getting close to our destination." Franklin says. "I have to use the restroom. You guys wait here." When Franklin leaves, the two of you sit down on a bench. You look at the sky, then sigh. Shizu squeezes your hand. "What's wrong?"

"You know, Uvo dying just hits hard, you know?" You scratch your head. "I know it's part of life, and it happens, but it still hurts. He was so close to me..." Shizu smiles. "It's ok. You have me. We can be happy together." You sigh. "But that's the thing. What if something happens to you? I'm just so worried... This is the first time in my life I've ever been so happy, and I don't want it to go away." Shizu wraps her arm around you. "I won't leave you. I promise. I love you." She leans in, and the two of you kiss. She pulls you in and you do the same, and the world seems to just melt around you until you hear someone clear their throat behind you. "Ahem!" You quickly break the kiss and turn around. Franklin has come back from the bathroom and is standing awkwardly. "Ummmmm.... am I interrupting something orrrrr" "No!" Both you and Shizu shout it at the same time. "Lets just go." Shizu says, face bright red. The three of you reach your destination just as Franklin gets a phone call. He turns to you and Shizu. "It's go time!"
