Chapter Twelve

The next morning, and start thinking about last night. "Shizu and I are a couple, so shouldn't we..." you shake your head. "No! I don't wanna think about that!" You quietly get out of bed, careful not to wake Shizu. You change into some shorts and a baggy sweatshirt and walk out of the room. You walk into the main room to see Chrollo sitting on a stool, drinking coffee. You smile at him and he nods. "Y/n. C'mere for a sec." You nod and walk over to him. "Two things" he says, setting his coffee cup on the floor. "One. How would you like to be a member of the Troupe? I know you've already rejected once, but things have changed." You think for a second. "I'd be happy to accept. As long as the others are fine with it." Chrollo smiles. "Good. We'll discuss it later in our meeting. Anyways, the other thing is about Shizuku. I just want to say thanks." You raise your eyebrows, puzzled. "For what?"

Chrollo smiles. "For being her boyfriend, stupid. Haven't you noticed? She's been a lot happier with you around. Same goes for you. And the others don't seem to mind having you around either." You look down, not sure what to say. "Well ummmm, you're welcome." Chrollo sighs and picks up his coffee cup. "Well, that's all. Be back by 12." You nod and head outside. You connect your AirPods to your phone (lmao kewl amirite?) and start blasting My Chemical Romance into your ears. You've always had a taste for emo music. You begin to stretch before going on your morning run.

While you're stretching, you start to think about how you got here anyways. You flashback to a couple months ago when you to Shizu to the rooftops and sigh. "I really hope this lasts forever." You think to yourself. You finish your stretches and then take off on your run. You run to Yorknew and run through the streets, before you get bored and run back to base. By the time you get back, the rest of the Troupe has gotten up. When you walk through the door Shalnark snickers. You roll your eyes. "When will you ever grow up..." you sigh, shaking your head. You walk to your room, grab some clothes, and head to the shower.

A few hours later, you and Shalnark are playing Smash on a Switch you brought from Yorknew. You K. O. him and smirk as he lowers his head in defeat. "I suck.." he says, pretending to be hurt. You give him a pat on the back. "It's ok, Shal. No one here is as good as me." "Ahem." Chrollo clears his throat. "Alright guys, there's a couple things I want to talk about. First, I would like to have y/n join the Troupe. Any objections?" Everyone shakes their heads, and Shizu smiles. Chrollo sighs. "Good. Second, after we make sure we got everything from the auction, I think we should head back to Meteor City once we take the rest of the loot. There's no point in us being here any longer." Nobunaga stands up. "Now wait a minute. The Chain Dude is still out there. We can't just leave knowing he's just living his life." Chrollo sighs again. "Alright. Answer these questions for me, ok?" Nobunaga nods, and Chrollo asks him the questions, and has him write down the answers on a piece of paper. Chrollo then says "Lovely Ghostwriter!", and summons a spirit that begins to write furiously on the piece of paper.

Chrollo has Nobunaga read the paper out loud. You scrunch your forehead. "Is this some sort of prediction?" Chrollo nods. "This here is Nobunaga's fortune. It states everything that will/has happened this month. For example, it states here that Uvo will die." Shizu walks up to Nobunaga and asks for the fortune. Nobunaga obliges and she examines the paper. "It also says that five of us are going to die in the next week. Boss, give me my fortune." Chrollo nods, and Shizu gives him her information. "Yes. It says here that me, Paku, and Shal are among those who will die." You stand up, alarmed. "Wait a minute! Are you sure that's correct?! You're lying!" Chrollo shakes his head. "Calm down, y/n. It's 100% the future. However, I think we should read everyone else's fortune as well." Soon, everyone except for Phinks and Feitan had their prophecies foretold. The last person was Hisoka.

Paku grabs his fortune and reads it out loud. "It says here... Hisoka told the Chain User about some of our abilities, including mine and Shizus." You get up and move towards Hisoka, as does Nobunaga. "You little shit.." you say, clenching your fists. Nobunaga grabs him by the shirt. "Why the hell did you sell us out?! Huh?!?" Hisoka smiles. "My dear Nobunaga, I cannot tell you that. Simply read my fortune." Chrollo nods. "From what I get, it seems that the Chain User used his ability to force Hisoka to tell him this information. However, it also says that Hisoka will die if he leaves the hideout. Short in short, we must stay here in Yorknew City. Which changes our plans. However, we must act accordingly."

He splits the Troupe into groups. "Machi, Paku, Shizu and y/n will be in one group. This is to ensure each other's survival. Hisoka will stay with Franklin and Bonolenov. Nobunaga and Kortopi, you're with me." Nobunaga smiles. "Hey boss, since we're staying here... does that mean we're gonna kill that Chain Dude?" Chrollo nods. "It seems that we must. Now let's discuss our plan of action."

After a couple hours, your group and Chrollos heads out to Yorknew, off the kill the Chain User. Chrollo determines him to be a member of the Kurta clan, and using the fake Scarlet Eyes he tracked his location. On the subway (yes, you guys get on a subway), you hold Shizu tight to your chest. You smile down at her, while covering up your anxiety. Inside your head, you're worrying about the prophecies. You sigh. "I just got the life that I've been wishing for my entire life. I'm not gonna let some stupid Chain Dude take it away from me." You look at Chrollo and smile. He nods, and you and the others head off the subway, determined.
