VALENTINE'S POV
"Where are you taking me?" I yelled over the roar of the motorbike, I clung onto him for dear life as we sped towards...well, I didn't know where. Clearly he didn't want to be original and just take me to a movie, but I kinda liked how he didn't want to do that. That he wouldn't tell me where we were going. I was completely happy at this moment. Happier than Zack ever made me.
"We're here." He said as he slowed down and that's when I noticed the huge Ferris wheel. He was taking me to a carnival. That was so cliché but honestly it was really cute. My stomach filled with butterflies as he parked his bike and helped me off it.
"Seriously? What kind of movies do you watch?" I asked, "Don't tell me your one of those guys who cry at chick flicks."
He chuckled, "Hardly, I just know what girls like." He winked at me as grabbed my hand, linking our fingers together. For once, I didn't flinch away and I'm happy I didn't. This just felt right. But there was that nagging voice in the back of my head, telling me that this was wrong and that this isn't what I would usually do. It made me feel guilty.
Was this technically cheating on Zack? Was this bad? I wasn't going to do anything with Jay...But then again I had kissed him. But he kissed me. But I kissed him back. My mind is a mess. I didn't know what to think but I just thought of a smart ass comment and moved all the questions and puzzled to the back of my mind.
"You're an arrogant prick, you know that?"
"I've been told." He said smugly as we neared the ticket booth. He insisted on buying my tickets as much as I denied. But then again, I'm glad he did because I hadn't thought to bring money as we left in quite a rush. He also had this smug look about him so I'm assuming he knew this as well. We walked around, hand in hand for a while, not entirely sure what to do first. And it was about then I spotted a huge roller coaster and sprinted over to it while getting lost in the crowds of people with Jay.
---
"Oh my gosh!" I squealed like a little girl, "That was fun!" I said as we walked over to the Ferris wheel. It was getting dark and this was the only ride he had decided to go on the whole day. I had been pulling him around, literally.
It was a pretty good day all in all. I had to admit I had fun. We only held hands...but friends do that too don't they? His next words snapped me out of my deep thoughts.
"You've had your fun with roller coasters and surprisingly the merry-go-round but my turn." He said sliding an arm around my waist. We took a few steps forwards as we neared the start of the line. Friends get very close and put their arms around each other?
"DO NOT INSULT THE MERRY-GO-ROUND OR I WILL..." what the hell would I do? "NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN!"
"One, you will have to see me because I live with you and two, do you always have to yell?" he said blocking his ears, I just shrugged innocently and gave him a sweet smile.
"Nope, but it's fun. But come on, you were missing out when you watched me on it. It was pretty fun." He rolled his eyes. This is why I usually don't have three cotton candy's when I come here, but oh well. Too late now.
This is explaining the spaz mood I'm in and why I'm yelling and why I even went on the merry-go-round in the first place. But this was me when I'm not really thinking straight and I turn into a five-year-old. Damn you carnivals for being my weakness!
"You really are something else, Valentine." I giggled, I knew that this was me being the weird person I am with no boundaries.
"Oh I know." I said taking another step forward.
"That wasn't a compliment." He said, staring at me like I was strange...which I was when I had too much sugar.
"Oh I know." I sighed as we got into one of the carriages and we started heading up. My stomach squeezed as I watched us get higher and higher off the ground until we went safely back down. I was so distracted by how we were moving in the carriage that I didn't notice Jay staring at me.
I turned around to look at him, he was studying me intently. "What?"
When he kept looking at me, I blushed a deep crimson. I didn't know what to do if the guy you're supposed to hate is staring at you like Jay is. Without even flinching, the Ferris wheel came to a halt at the top and he came over to sit on the same side as me.
"You're so beautiful." He murmured to me as he leant in. Friends kiss...?
