If Only
Lately you've been on my mind
keeping me company
In my thoughts that never seem
to tire of thinking about you constantly
Like a dream that never seems to end and I don't want to wake up from
My consciousness just can't get enough of you
The longing I feel when I imagine you
Kissing me, hugging me, loving me
If only the stars would align
According to my heart's desires
If only the fate would hear the silent plea that my soul echoes through the night
If only the distance between us would be but a mere whisper
If only you and I can somehow get together
If only the moon would meet the sun
And not be at odds in space and time
If only when I place my hand to the right, and it's your left that I'll be able to touch and intertwine with mine
If only I could caress your face and press my eager lips to yours, to taste your sweetness and make you mine and you making me yours
Creating a cherished moment that would carry through until We're old
If only we could remember what our hearts have known since time begun
Our souls traveling the cosmos, colliding, connecting in the most ancient of dance
If only you and I could be together now
Together before and after love
Where time flows infinitely
Where reality meets probability
Where memories of you and I will be
Etched in the history of love and humanity
If only...if only.
