You are my home they say
It never ceases to amaze me how
They tend to say those words
When in love but do not stay
You are my heart they tell you
Will promise you the moon and the stars
As if it is theirs to give
When what you just want is their time
And that's a precious gift
They tell you they love you
Will make you feel that you're the most important person in the world
That it is you they want to grow old with
That loving you is their life's purpose
You are my life they pledge
Giving you that feeling of exhilaration, of bliss
Then all of a sudden without you knowing
Sometime, somehow, something is amiss
And then they tell you it's not working out
That the feeling is gone
As if you don't matter
Your love is not good enough
That they're not sure anymore
Then you tell them goodbye
Goodbye to the love you once prioritize
Goodbye to the times you were taken for granted
Goodbye to the person who made you feel you're not wanted
Then you tell yourself you are enough
You are worthy of all the love you deserve and the promises uttered
And that loving yourself is worth all that pain and you matter
Then you emerge from the ashes
With a smile in your heart
That can light up your world and someone else's.

I wrote this around 2-3Pm while inside the bank. I came across two quotes from my IG tl/feed and it inspired me to write this. Sometimes yung pag hihintay mo ay hindi wasted time. 😎
