Chapter Thirteen

Tahimik na nagbabasa ng libro sa couch malapit sa pool si Anthony nang maramdaman niya na may nakatingin sa kanya. He looked over his shoulder, it was Monique. He noticed that she had showered already. Her hair was still damp. Hindi nakaligtas sa kanya kung gaano ito kaganda sa simpleng suot na pink cotton shirt at kulay itim na shorts na hindi umabot sa mga tuhod nito. She had such shapely legs, isa sa mga weaknesses niya.

Lumapit ito sa tabi niya. He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and went to the kitchen. When he came back, he handed her a mug of coffee.

"Thank you." She smelled it while her eyes were closed. She smiled.

"How's it?"

"It smells good. I bet it tastes good, too," she took a sip and looked at him, "Wow. The best coffee in the world."

He grinned. Her reaction was priceless.

"Ako ang unang natulog sa atin pero ikaw ang unang nagising." Sabi nito mayamaya.

"You were already knocked out when I came in the room. It was late, I'm glad I didn't wake you up. Ambrose and Marco got so drunk they actually fell asleep on the floor."

She laughed out loud. "Sana nakita ko!"

Natawa na rin siya. Ibinaba niya ang librong hawak sa coffee table at tumabi rito. He put his arm around her. She smelled so good. He kissed the side of her head.

"Anthony, how did you become a billionaire?"

He looked at her. "Where did that come from? Is this an interview?" He almost wanted to laugh.

"Not really."

"I have turned down a bunch of them, you know that? This is gonna be expensive."

Umiling ito. "'Wag na lang pala. Wala akong pambayad."

"Actually, you do."

"Ha?" Clueless na reaksiyon nito.

He grinned and looked all over her body. Hinampas siya nito sa balikat at napaigik siya.

"Aw!"

"Oh my God! I'm sorry! Masakit pa ba?"

He laughed. "I'm just kidding. And no, it doesn't hurt that much now."

"Hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala sa nangyari sa 'yo. I prayed so hard, you know that? Sobrang nagpapasalamat ako at daplis lang ang inabot mo."

"I guess your prayers really helped. Ito ang napala ko for not agreeing to a one-night with her."

Inirapan siya nito saka higop sa kape. She looked cute getting upset. Hindi niya akalain na may babaeng hindi mangingiming irapan at hampasin siya.

"So, you were actually thinking of agreeing to what she wanted, huh?"

"Nope." Itinaas niya ang kamay at inilahad sa harap nito ang singsing na suot niya.

Natawa ito sabay higop sa kape. "Well, you're a billionaire, isa nga sa rason kung bakit may mga babaeng naghahangad sa 'yo. Like what I told you na narinig ko sa restroom."

"My siblings and I were born in a middle-class family. I earned it."

Napatingin ito sa kanya. Ibinaba ang mug na hawak sa coffee table at humarap sa kanya.

"My parents worked hard to be able to support us. May kaya ang family ni Dad but he always wanted to provide for us on his own. When Lolo died, I was eighteen that time, I received a good amount of money from him. All three of us did. Pantay-pantay. I used it on my buying and selling business. Hindi ko namamalayan na lumalaki na 'yung business ko. I was buying and selling cars, condos, houses, different kind of properties."
