The mages' guild sat on the southern end of Ald'Ruhn in a building housed in a massive bug shell (like most other buildings in Ald'Ruhn), and we made a line directly to the building. Before we could enter, we were accosted by a raving lunatic standing outside the door. Neither of us paid much attention to him (not that Pip paid much attention to anything) but I was able to catch a few key words: Solstheim, something called "an airship," a lost crew, and he was excited about something only mentioned as "the item." Rambling madmen were all over Tamriel, but somehow Vvardenfell had more than average. We walked past ignoring him the best we could.

Pip led the way inside the mages' guild. He found a friendly Imperial lady by the name of Edwinna, and they appeared to be on very friendly terms. Pip not only 'have contacts' in the mages' guild, he was a member, and a well-known member upon that. Edwinna asked why we didn't use a "guild guide" to travel to Ald'Ruhn, which I interrupted the conversation to ask a question.

"What's a 'guild guide'?"

"A guild guide is a member of the guild who will teleport you to the guild halls here in Vvardenfell. You pay a tiny fee -- a little extra if you're traveling with a non-guild member such as yourself -- and, poof, you're there."

I turned to Pip and asked, "We could've teleported here? Why didn't we?"

"Tele-port no adventure for Pip and friend."

We asked about Mr. Zainsubani, the entire point of us being in Ald'Ruhn altogether, and Edwinna mentioned he lived in northern Ald'Ruhn, near 'Under Skar', in the Ald Skar Inn whatever the hell all of that meant. It didn't matter because Pip understood well enough 'Under Skar' and we set out onto the dusty streets of the bugshell filled city once again.

To the north up a few sets of stairs that traversed the town seemingly plopped down with bugshelled buildings in the middle of the Ashlands. Here and there the land rose and fell gently, and on the steeper inclines were placed staircases. They gave the city a very impromptu look as if hundreds of Dunmer one day thought, "This is the place we shall build our city."

On the very northern edge of the city was the largest bugshell I or anyone else on Tamriel had ever seen: 'Under Skar' as Pip explained. It was primarily the home of the House Redoran Councilors and their various special services. While there were armorers and traders in nearly every city and town in Tamriel, Under Skar housed the most talented people that cash could buy. House Redoran, being one of the "big houses" here in Morrowind, had plenty of money and influence to employ these gifted artisans.
