It was another one of those nights where Soobin and Kai were at it again, talking and laughing.

They got so lost in the moment, watching a film.

Kai was pressed against Soobin's chest as he was laying down on his bed. They were ironically watching "Barbie: A Fairy Secret" since Kai thought it would be good.

Kai stared deep into the TV screen with his ocean-like eyes, seeing everything that was happening on screen. It was a new experience for the little fairy since fairies didn't have this type of technology.

"Wow, Barbie looks so pretty!" Kai said in the most innocent and baby-like tone that Soobin had ever heard.

"She does, doesn't she?" Soobin cooed as he had a wide smile on his face. He felt his cheeks heat up because of how Kai held onto his shirt.

"But I think that you're prettier than Barbie." Soobin used a finger to rub Kai's head.

"M-me? Prettier than Barbie?" Kai's face instantly heated up as he looked up at Soobin.

"Yeah. You're the prettiest.." Soobin gently caressed the fairy's face using his finger.

That was when he realized that he had fallen in love with Kai.

He was so enchanted by his beauty, the way that he talked, his personality and his love for cookies.

He was so in love with Kai.

"You're m-making me blush again.." Kai covered his face with his small hands. The small fairy nuzzled his head against the human boy's chest, listening to how fast his heart was beating.

Suddenly, as if he didn't have time to notice it, Soobin wrapped both of his palms around Kai like a warm blanket.

The fairy shuddered in delight as he placed one of his hands on Soobin's finger.

"Mmhaaah.. you're so warm, Binnie."  Kai called him by his nickname.

"You're so small and adorable, I want to hold you in my arms forever, you angel." Soobin cooed as he used his thumb to rub Kai's head.

There was a pause and then a happy sigh from Soobin.

"You're making my heart beat so fast, Kai."

Soobin's voice then got slow and serious. Kai stopped talking and looked up at him.

"It beats so fast every single day.. I don't know why it's like this." He took the fairy's hand, placing it on his chest. Kai felt his heart beat faster than it had ever beaten before.

"I.." Kai looked down. "My heart does the same thing.. and I don't know why either..." Kai directed Soobin's finger to his chest. Soobin felt the tiny fairy's heart beat very fast.

Both of their cheeks reddened at the connection they felt when they were together.

"I think I've fallen for you, Kai." Soobin gently whispered, pulling the fairy close to his face.

"I..I fell for you when I first laid my eyes on you." Kai quietly whispered, closing his eyes.

"When was that?" Soobin continued in a gentle tone.

"It was.. 18 years ago." Kai looked up at him.

18 years? What does he even mean by 18?

Then something clicked inside Soobin's brain. Kai had been watching over him since he was a baby.

It all added up.

The way he was flustered when they first met, the way he knew Soobin's name before he even told him and the way Kai didn't run away from a human he just met. It all added up.

Kai was with Soobin this entire time.

A deep sense of emotion went through Soobin, making him feel all fuzzy and warm.

"You've always been watching me.. so how could you endure it all?" His lips trembled. Kai stared deep into the eyes of the human.

"You endured much more than I did, Soobin." Kai placed his hand on the human's cheek.

The world stopped moving for the both of them.

Kai felt the Soobin's warm breath spread across his forehead, then to his neck where he felt a pair of lips.

Soobin kept his lips on Kai's neck while using his thumb to rub his cheek.

The moment was so gentle and soft they they didn't even care if they were being watched. They just wanted each other. To be with each other and to feel each other's warmth and company.

Soobin then slowly pulled away, watching Kai's wings flutter in delight.

He took a look at the fairy and cooed.

The spot on his neck where he had gotten kissed turned completely pink and flushed while Kai gave him the cutest flustered face that anyone could get.

Jungkook quietly watched Soobin and Kai. But then, out of nowhere, Soobin had kissed the fairy.

He had fallen in love with Kai.

A sharp pain of realization went through Jungkook's chest as he heard thunder roaring in the sky.

It was true.

The curse of a human and fairy's love was repeating history.

If thunder was heard after a Human had kissed a fairy, it usually meant that one or the other would be punished with a horrible fate.

But Kai didn't care.

He was so sure that Soobin would be safe and sound and that he himself would be the one who would get hurt.

After all, it's the only thing that Kai could do since he couldn't protect Soobin from bullies at school.

It was his way of making up by taking Soobin's place for the terrible things that awaited.

Jungkook cared a lot about Kai. He loved the little boy as if he was his own brother. To see Kai throw himself away like that for love teared up his heart.

Jungkook clenched his shirt and then turned into a swan.

He flew away into the cold and rainy night, his heart pounding out of his chest.

He didn't care about the fact that Yeonjun and Taehyun were exposed to Soobin, he just wanted to save Huening Kai from the terrible fate that came towards him and Soobin.

"Please.. please don't do this to yourself, Huening Kai." Jungkook whispered.
