Kai looked into a glass orb that glowed a slight dusty pink. He saw Soobin crying with Taehyun. He saw his own body being held by his lover. Kai sighed, tears welling up in his eyes.
"I'm so sorry, sweet Soobin. I'm sorry..." A tear ran down Kai's face. "I'm coming back, my love. I promise." Kai placed his palm on the glass orb as a tear fell on it.
He just had to wait.
He had to wait for the deities to discuss his reincarnation so he could go back to his loved one.
He had to leave his life as a fairy behind for Soobin. He felt bad for Yeonjun and Taehyun, always having to deal with his silliness.
Kai smiled, memories of his childhood with those two returning to his head.
He stopped as he heard a knock on his door.
Curiously, he opened it.
In front of him was a young and curious looking woman.
She had long, jet-black hair which reached her shoulders and fell in wavy whisps across her face. Her lips were pressed together in a slight nervousness and she had dancing brown eyes.
Kai looked passed her shoulders to see a pair of angels wings too. He just assumed that she was a messenger angel.
"Hey, uh.." she spoke.
"Hey," Kai's tone got gentle. The way this woman spoke, so soft and gentle, reminded Kai of someone he knew.
It then clicked inside his head.
This woman was Soobin's mother.
She looked exactly like Soobin and Kai had seen her before since he had been watching over Soobin for his entire life.
"Mrs. Choi..?" Kai whispered underneath his breath.
The expression on the woman's face changed.
She was surprised.
Kai then let her inside, closing the door behind her.
"How.. how did you know that I died?" Kai asked her as he looked down.
"I have the glass orb too. Lots of people do but they can't tell the living ones about it since they aren't reincarnated." She spoke, cupping her hands together.
"So.. you've been watching over Soobin too?" Kai asked. The woman nodded, looking down.
"I think you and Soobin are perfect together. I really can't thank you enough for saving my baby's life like that." She spaced out.
"It's alright.. I love your son so much, ma'am." Kai looked at her in the eyes.
"Please keep on loving him, Kai. He needs you, but.. once you reincarnate, please just tell him I'm fine and doing well, okay?" She held Kai's hands and looked at him with a desperate look.
"I will, ma'am. I promise." Kai reassuringly said.
"Thank you.. thank you so much, young man!" She wrapped her arms around the boy's neck, pulling him into an emotional hug.
The moment made both of them feel at ease.

Soobin woke up to someone entering his room.
It was Beomgyu.
"Huh.. hey, Gyu." Soobin yawned and rubbed his head.
"Hey, Binnie. I made you some food since you looked pretty hungry yesterday." Beomgyu sat down beside Soobin's bed.
"Did you make dumplings?" Soobin looked up at him with a surprised look as he inhaled the scent of what seemed to be dumplings.
"Yes, I did." Beomgyu smiled, proud of his creation. "Thanks, man." Soobin said as Beomgyu opened and handed him a box full of dumplings with chopsticks on the side.
"This looks so good," Soobin said, looking at his friend.
"Yup, I made them for you, so eat up!" Beomgyu giggled. Soobin gave him a nod before digging down on his meal.
He plopped the dumpling into his mouth and surprisingly, it was really good. He didn't know how good of a cook Beomgyu was.
"Wow, this is good!" Soobin happily exclaimed, looking at Beomgyu. "Glad you like it." Beomgyu smiled.
After finishing his meal, Soobin looked back at Beomgyu.
"So, how was school?" He asked.
"Basically everyone knows what happened to you and people are really sad. There are a whole bunch of gifts on your desk, do you want me to get them?" Beomgyu asked.
"No, it's fine. I don't wan a make you do extra work." Soobin looked away and sighed.
Suddenly, the thought of Kai came back I to his mind.
It hurt him.
He tried to get rid of that thought by replacing it with Beomgyu but it just wasn't working.
Soobin tried and tried, but to no avail.
A sad smile came up on Soobin's face as he looked up at his friend.
Beomgyu immediately noticed that something was very wrong with Soobin. He looked so sad and tired.
"Are you alright, Binnie?" Beomgyu placed his hand on the older boy's shoulder.
Soobin knew that nothing was okay. He didn't want to be weak in front of his friend but it was just too hard.
He was silent for a few moments but Beomgyu was patient with him.
Sighing, Soobin looked up at Beomgyu with tears in his eyes.
"No, I'm not okay, Beomgyu." Soobin said in a breathy voice as tears began to roll down his face.
Out of instinct, Beomgyu wrapped his arms around Soobin in a protective manner, rubbing the boy's back and head.
"Oh, you. I'm so sorry, Binnie boo." Beomgyu said, hushing the boy in his arms.
"It'll be alright, okay? You can tell me what's hurting you." Beomgyu said, letting Soobin nuzzle into his chest.
The older boy wrapped his arms around Beomgyu, crying into his chest like a delicate baby.
"I lost someone I love," Soobin cried.
"Oh, it'll be alright. I promise. It's okay to cry, let it all out." Beomgyu cooed, placing his hand on Soobin's back and rubbing it.
The two sat there, holding onto each other as Beomgyu comforted him.
From up there, Kai watched them, happy that Beomgyu existed.
