Sans walked through the door as they felt a warm light wash over them.
They opened their eye sockets and gasps.They are... outside?They on the surface!How?Then they remembered that they absorbed James' soul do Tiff couldn't shatter it.Sans sat on the edge of a cliff,watching the sunset.
"It's as beautiful as I remember ."Sans said to themself
Sans continue to watch the sun sets as Sans was filled with sadness when they remembered that James died,they never got to tell Frisk that they love him and was forced to leave the humans trapped underground.They failed to keep the promise they made to themself...That they would free the humans without having to kill the King...But the failed in the end...
"...What am I suppose to do now...I couldn't free the humans...I was unable to tell Frisk I love him...And my father figure is now dead...I never got to spend time with him or know him better...I couldn't keep the promise I made..."Sans said with sorrow as Sans finds themself in darkness

Sans let their phone go to voice mail.
"Heya.Sans are you there?"Frisk asked as Sans listens.
"Well,I'll just leave a message."Frisk said.
"So...It's been a while.The Queen has returned and is ruling over the underground."Frisk said as Sans was shock.
"She's instated a new policy.All monsters that fall down here will be treated not as enemies...But as friends."Frisk said as Sans smiles.
"It's probably for the best,anyways.The monster souls the King gathered...have disappeared.So,uh,that plan ain't happening anytime soon.But even though people are heartbroken over the King...And things are looking grim for our freedom...The Queen is trying hard not to let us give up hope.So,if we're not giving up down here...Don't give up wherever you are,okay?Who knows how long it will take...But we will get out of here."Frisk said.
"FRISK!WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO!?"Alex yelled as Sans smiles.
"Oh,nobody."Frisk said as Alex gasps.
"NOBODY!?Can I talk to them,too?"Alex asked as Sans giggles.
"Yeah,knock yourself out,bro."Frisk said as Sans heard Frisk handing the phone over to Alex.
"Wait a second...I recognize this number!ATTENTION,MONSTER!!!"Alex said as Sans giggles.
"I find it odd how only Frisk knew my name.Everyone else just calls me monster."Sans said in confusion
"I,the Awesome Alex,am now Captain of the Royal Guard!It's everything I've ever dreamed of...Except,instead of fighting...We just water flowers.So that's ever-so-slightly different."Alex said as Sans laughs.
"And we're helping Dr.Emma with her research!She's gonna find a way to get us out of here!Ava is helping her,too!Though,to be honest,Her method of helping...Seems kind of...Explosion-inducing."Alex said as Sans chuckles.
"But I think Emma likes having her around...OH NO!!!"Alex said as Sans heard the phone being taken from Jason.
"Hey!What are you up to,brat!?"Ava yelled as Rocky could be heard Barking in the background.
"NGGHH!!!"Ava said as some strange noise could be heard.
"Please don't noogie the phone."Alex said to Ava.
"Hey!Who's in charge here!?"Ava asked as Alex can be heard chuckling nervously.
"Me."Alex said as Ava laughs.
"Oh...Yeah,that's right!I quit my job as leader of the Royal Guard.Actually,since we won't be fighting anymore...The Royal Guard totally disbanded.There's,uh,only one member now."Ava said with a chuckle.
"BUT HE'S VERY GOOD."Alex said as Ava chuckled.
"Yeah!He is!C'mere!"Ava said as Alex could be heard yelping in the background.
"PLEASE DON'T NOOGIE THE HUMAN!!!"Alex yelled as Sans laughs but stopped when they felt tears rolling down their face.They couldn't tell why they were crying.
"Anyway,now I'm working as Emma's lab assistant.We're gonna find a way out of this dump once and for all!Oh,yeah and I'm also a gym teacher at the Queen's new school.Did you know I can bench-press seven children!?Awesome,right?"Ava said before going silent,but the silence that followed the excitement was thick.
"Hey.I'm sorry about what happened with James.You were just doing what you had to.", Apollo said as Sans frowns.
"It's not your fault he...Ah,crud...I miss him."Ava said before there were more silence as Sans started to cry in despair
"C'mon,Ava!Snap out of it!Uh,I guess I'll tell you how Emma is doing.Well,she's the same as ever.Maybe a little bit more reclusive than normal.Seems like something's really bothering her...But she can get through it!I'm there supporting her!That's what friends are for,right?"Ava said before going silent again as Sans felt something was wrong.
"Hey,wherever you are,I hope it's better than here.It took a lot of sacrifices for you to get there...So,wherever you are...You have to try to be happy,okay?!For our sakes!We'll feel better knowing our trouble was worth it.We're all with you!Everyone is!Even Maria!"Ava said as she paused for a moment.
"HEYYY!!!WAIT a second!MARIA!MARIA!Do you wanna...?Heh,she says she's busy."Ava said as Sans sighs sadly.They were hoping they would be able to hear Maria's voice one last time
"But if she knew who we were talking to..."Alex said.
"We wouldn't get the phone back for at least a few hours."Frisk said as he chuckles.
"We have the mercy to spare you from her!!!"Alex said as Sans whines.
"But call back anytime,okay?She'd love to talk!"Ava said.
"Oh,whoops.The battery is almost dead.So hate to cut this short,but...Be seeing you,ok,Sans?"Frisk said.
"BYE BYE FOR NOW!"Alex yelled.
"See ya,Brat!"Ava said as Rocky barks.
Sans heard Alex,Ava and Rocky walk away as Frisk held the phone
"One more thing...Just remember I love you ok?Bye."Frisk said as Sans blushes.
Frisk then hangs up as Sans still had tears in their eye sockets.
"I have to fix this."Sans said to themself.
"So how do I-"Sans said before flinching when Tiff appeared in front of them as Tiff looked awkward.
"Why...?Why did you let me go?Don't you realize that being nice...Just makes you get hurt?Look at yourself.You made all these great friends...You found someone to love...But now...You'll probably never see them again.Not to mention how much they've been set back by you.Hurts, doesn't it?"Tiff said as Sans nods.
"If you had just gone through without caring about anyone...You wouldn't have to feel bad now."Tiff said.
"So,I don't get it.If you really did everything the right way...Why did things still end up like this?Why...?Is life really that unfair?"Tiff asked as Sans frowns.
"Say.What if I told you...I knew some way to get you a better ending?You'll have to load to the last time you saved your progress and...Well,in the meantime, why don't you go see Dr.Emma?It seems like you could have been better friends.Who knows...Maybe she's got the key to your happiness?See you soon."Tiff said with a smile as she disappeared into the ground.While Sans was shocked.
"I can do it.I can make this better!"Sans said as they willed themself to go back.
