When they did,Sans found James drinking a cup of hot chocolate.
"I'm back."Sans said as James turned to look at them and putting his hot chocolate.
"Hello,young one.So,have you done what you must?"James asked as Sans nods.
"Well then you know what must be done."James said as Sans got ready
"Ready?"James said as Sans nods.
But suddenly,a fireball appeared.Sans stared at it and so did James.Then the fireball flew into James,causing him to fly into a wall.Sans looked at the culprit and gasps.
It was Maria
"What a terrible creature,attacking such a innocent youth."Maria said as Sans smiles.
"Mom!"Sans said with a smile as Maria smiles at them.
"Do not be afraid,my child.It is I,Maria,your mother."Maria said as Sans looks at her.
"What changed your mind,mom?"Sans asked as Maria sighs.
"At first,I thought I would let you make your journey alone.But I could not stop worrying about you.Your adventure must have been so treacherous.And ultimately,it would burden you with a horrible choice.To leave this place,you would have to take the life of another person.You would have to defeat JAMES.However...I realized...I cannot allow that.It is not right to sacrifice someone simply to let someone leave here.Is that not what I have been trying to prevent this whole time?So,for now,let us suspend this battle.As terrible as JAMES is...He deserves mercy,too."Maria said as Sans looked over to James,who got up from the wall and walked over.
"May!You have returned!"James said
"Do not 'May' me,Smith.You pathetic whelp."Maria said as James sighs.
"If you truly wanted to free our people...You would have left when you had ONE SOUL,collected six more from the monsters,and freed everyone peacefully,instead of waiting here,letting everyone suffer while you meekly hope another monster never comes."Maria said as James frowns.
"You are right.I am pathetic."James said
"NGHH!James!Monster!Nobody fight each other!!!"Ava yelled as she ran into the room,while Rocky sits next to Sans,who petted his head.
"Everyone's gonna make friends,or else I'll...I'll..."Ava said before stopping when she saw Maria.
"Hello.I am Maria.Are you my child's friend?It is nice to meet you."Maria said as Ava smiles widely.
"Uh,yeah...?Nice to meet you!"Ava said as walked over to James.
"Yo,James,is that your ex-wife?Dang,that stings."Ava said while comforting James when Emma ran in.
"H-Hey! Nobody hurt each other!!"Emma said before noticing Maria.
"Oh!Are you another friend?I am Maria.Hello!"Maria said as Emma smiles.
"Uh,h-h-hi!"Emma said before looking at Sans.
"IS THAT REALLY THE QUEEN!?"Emma asked as Sans nods,she stood next to Ava.
Jason ran in, and Sans grinned.
"HEY!NOBODY FIGHT ANYONE!IF ANYONE FIGHTS ANYONE...!THEN I'LL!!! BE FORCED!!!TO ASK AVA FOR HELP!!!"Alex said before freezing when he saw Maria.
"Hello!"Maria said as Alex smiles.
"OH!HELLO,YOUR HIGHNESS!PSST,HEY,MONSTER...WHO IS THAT!?"Alex asked as Frisk joined in as well.
"Hey,guys...What's up?"Frisk asked as Maria gasps.
"That voice!"Maria said as she walked up to Frisk.
