Evelyne POV
"Princess Evelyne, it's time to wake up." I feel a a hand softly touch my arm and I open my eyes reluctantly.

"Can't I have 5 more minutes Lucy?" I flop my body over to turn away from her.

"My apologies Princess Evelyne, but the queen wants you to be in the dining room a little early today. She says that you and her have very important matters to talk about." Lucy finishes in her usual monotone voice.

"Okay, thank you Lucy." I hint at her to leave as I sit up from my bed. She takes the hint and curtsy's to me before walking out of my room.

Damn it mom, I really don't want to talk about a husband today.

I think to myself as I roll out of my bed. I walk into my bathroom and brush my teeth.

Knock* Knock*

That must be the maids.

I quickly wipe my mouth and speed walk to my bedroom door. I open it to see maids I've never seen before.

One of the three maids has long blonde hair tied into a French braid with a ribbon and beautiful blue eyes. She looks around my age, maybe a little older.

I would kill to look like that.

The maid in the middle has striking red hair with chocolate brown eyes. She looks like she's in her mid-30's.

And the maid on the right has short grey hair with wrinkles outlining her smile. Her eyes are deep brown and they look as if they hold wisdom and gentleness.

"Good morning Princess Evelyne. I am Maid Ezra, the blonde one is Maid Rose, and the red head is Maid Adairia." The old one finishes with a sweet smile.

They all curtsy and smile sweetly at me. "Hello there. I assume you are here to help me get ready?"

I already know the answer to that question but hey, just making sure.

"Yes Princess Evelyne, we will have you ready in no time." A high voice coming from the blonde one reassures me.

I open the door to signal them to come in. They rush into my room and quickly get to work. Maid Rose opens my closet door and walks in, while Maid Ezra and Maid Adairia lead me into the bathroom.

They turn on the bathtub water and motion for me to take my night gown off.

I strip naked and dip my foot into the bathtub, trying to feel how cold it is. Perfect temperature. I think to myself as I fully submerge into the tub.

They both start to clean me and I just relax while I watching "The Bachelorette" on the tv above me. I love being a princess.

I don't think I've fully introduced myself yet. Well, I'm Princess Evelyne Ambra Breevort the II. Named after my great-great-grandma. Has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

Anyway, I love the color pink, I'm allergic to fish, and I absolutely hate Brussel sprouts. Don't ask why. I love to push my brother Nick's buttons, and I also love my dog, Venice.

"Princess Evelyne, it's time to get clothed." Maid Adairia says in her thick, Scottish accent. What a beautiful voice.

"Oh yes, of course." I say back to her as I step out of the bathtub. They hand me my robe and walk me out back into my room to do my hair.

After they finish putting my long, wavy brown hair into a loose French braid, they walk me into my enormous closet.

I see Maid Rose struggling to hold the two beautiful dresses in her hands.

"Princess Evelyne, which one do you desire the most?" Maid Rose says in a soft voice.

"I would really like the dark blue one Ms. Rose." I smile and she nods back to me, putting the other dress away.

After about five minutes of convincing the maids to let me put on my dress myself, they finally let me.

Her dress

It's simple yet beautiful

It's simple yet beautiful. I think to myself.

I open the doors for the maids and pose weirdly to them. They all giggle quietly while checking my dress for any holes. "You look absolutely beautiful, Princess Evelyne." Maid Ezra commented as I twirl around for them.

The other girls smiled and nodded as I turned back to them.

"I appreciate this so much everyone. Thank you." I jump up and down and I'm pretty sure I almost tripped.

"Of course your majesty. We shall lead you to the dining hall now." Maid Adairia exclaims back to me.

I nod and walk out of my closet and up to the two big doors leading out of my room. Maid Rose and Maid Adairia both open the heavy doors to let me through.

We walk down the stairs and into the dining room. My mother sits at the head of the table, while my eleven year old brother sits at the middle.

I was led by the maids to the other end of the table. They pull my chair out for me and I gently lower myself into it.

The maids curtsy and walk out of the room to leave me with my family.

My mother looks up from her plate and stares at me.

I look a lot like my mother. Especially when she was younger. I inherited her dark brown wavy hair. And I inherited her Italian skin complexion which I'll forever be grateful for.

As for the eyes? I inherited my fathers. He had striking blue eyes. They were almost as blue as the ocean. They had little dark blue rings around them, making them even more noticeable.

I love that I still have a piece of my father with me that I can see every day. Besides my nose shape, I don't have a lot of similar features as him.

Nick on the other hand, looks like a complete replica of him. Except for Nicks dark brown hair. My father had icy blonde hair, my mother would call him Jack Frost because of it.

They loved each other deeply. But cancer loves to come when everything is perfect.

"Good morning Evelyne. I wanted to talk some very important matters with you this morning." My mother says to me before sipping her morning tea.

Nothing could be more important than my dream about marrying Harry Styles. I'll get back to you soon Harry.

"Good morning mother. Is this about me having to pick a prince this year?" I try not to roll my eyes as I question her.

I am a strong independent woman. I don't need any man. And I just turned 18 mother, let me breath.

"Actually, I have something else to talk with you about." She stares straight at me before continuing.

"The palace has been having more and more break in's recently. The rebels are getting out of hand and I don't feel safe knowing that only the maids are protecting you." She says with concern.

"But we have the guards on the outside of the palace to keep us safe." I say back to her.

"Yes, but I don't feel safe anymore with just them. Anyway, the reason I called you down here was to inform you that I hired a highly skilled bodyguard to protect and follow you wherever you go." She finishes.

"Say what now?"
