Chapter 4

My phone started to vibrate and I woke up fast. It was still pitch black outside and my phone was ringing. I stretched my arms and got my phone. My blurry eyes made out the name Jace.

“What do you want?” I mumbled into the phone.

“You are so,” He laughed.

Typical. He was drunk. I hung up and went back to bed. My phone started to ring again. I answered again.

“What do you want?!” I said more awake now.

“You cant hang up on me!” He said.

“What do you want JACE!” I yelled.

“I want Isabelle.”

I hung up and turned my phone off. I fell back asleep again.

My alarm went off at 5:30 and I groaned. I pulled my self out of my bed and went to shower. I collided with Max.

“Im going first!” He said. I started running toward the bathroom. I slammed the door in his face and turned on the shower.  I closed my eyes and let the hot water coax my skin. I heard the door open. I poked my head out of the shower curtain to see Max standing there with an evil smile on his face. He pulled his pants down and peed. I put my head back in the shower.

“Alec,” He said.

I poked my head back out and he was dressed and his hair done. He smiled evilly at me again and lifted his hand up slowly to the flusher on the toilet. I glared at him.

“Don’t. You. Dare.” I said with tight teeth. He fingered the flusher and pushed it.

The water immediately scolded my body. I screamed and turned the water off. Why did toilets and showers have to be connected? I got out and looked at my back in the mirror and my back had welts on it. I would be sore today.

I pulled into the school parking lot and was so sore. I walked slowly looking down so people couldn’t see the pain on my face. But I failed. I felt a slap on my back and I screamed out and shoved the person to the ground. It was Jace.

“What the hell man!” He screamed.

“Sorry, I have welts on my back!” I said and walked slowly to the front doors. I heard foot steps all around me. Maya came running up behind me and she hugged me.

“What happened to you picking me up?” She asked.

“I forgot.” I said.

“Are you hurting Alec?” She asked.

Was she that blonde?

“No im as happy as a rainbow full of smiles!” I snapped and shrugged her off.  She looked furious. She walked up to me and slapped my back.

“Mother of God! Maya what is your problem!?” I yelled.

She had tears in her eyes and I just walked away. This was not going to be a good day. She walked off through the crowed.

I walked into the bathroom to take my medication and my pain medicine. I took a sip of Dr. Pepper and gulped. I started to choke and a hand was on my back. I winced and looked to see Magnus behind me.

“Don’t touch me please it hurts.” I said and moved his arm off my back.

His face looked pained. “Whats wrong?”

“Little brother and the toilet while I was in the shower.” I said.

He nodded. “Why are you always in the bathroom at the same time I am?” I asked.
