Sophie's POV

Johnny and I talked the whole way there. He told me about this cat that would visit him when he slept out in the lot. It saddens me that such a sweet kid gets beat by his parents who once loved him.

"What movie should we see?" I asked once the drive-in was in sight.

"Hmmm how about Thunderball" I turned back and looked at Two-Bit and Pony.

"Thunderball it is" Two-Bit smiled and drank from a flask he brought. Pony was frowning and looked sad but also annoyed. I frowned and went back to facing forward.

"Moving carefully while sliding under, don't want you to get hurt now" Johnny showed me how to get through a whole under the fence. Pony and Two-Bit went under after I did. We walked over to the seats for people without cars.

"I'mma go get a coke" Johnny stood up and I did too.

"I'll join" I smiled and grabbed his arm. "Hey get me popcorn and Pony one too, I'm buying" Two-Bit handed me money and I nodded. Johnny and I walked over to the concessions. I felt happy being with Johnny the same feeling with Pony. Oh no I think I like Johnny. God damn it Sophie you slut.

The movie wasn't all that great so we left early. It was 5 p.m when we left but walked around for 3 hours. We decided it was time to get home since school was tomorrow.

"I better get home before my folks get home" Johnny started to walk down his street. My heart ached for him to come sleep at  Curtis's. I looked at Pony with pleading eyes. His frown softened and he looked at Johnny.

"Hey Johnnycakes, you wanna sleep at mine?" Johnny turned and nodded. He ran back over to us. I smiled at Pony. We entered the house and Sodapop and Steve were arm wrestling. Pony went to the bathroom, Two-Bit grabbed a bear and Johnny and I sat on the couch.

"Hey Soda when'd you start shaving?" Pony was rubbing his chin in the mirror. I stood up and slipped my slides on.

"When I was 15"

"When'd darry"

"When he was 13. Why? You thinkin of growin sum for the ladies" Soda laughed whiled struggling to pin Steves arm down, he lost. Pony threw a towel at him and walked over to the couch. I stepped outside and sat on the porch swing. The moon was out and full. The light from the moon and the light from inside was my only way to see out here. I smiled and looked at the stars. Johnny came out and sat next to me.

"Pretty huh" He looked up. I smiled and nodded.

"Yea, real pretty" What he said next made me feel all tingly and happy inside.

"Not as pretty as you"

My cheeks heated up q.u.i.c.k. I smiled and looked at him. He was already looking at me. We just stared at each other. He leaned in slightly. His eyes shifted from my eyes to my lips and back up to my eyes. I closed the gap between us. Our lips molded together like a puzzle piece. We pulled back a little to breathe. He placed his hand on my necked and pulled me back in. My hands went to his hair. His tongue slipped into my mouth. He moaned a little when I tugged at his hair a little bit. I smiled into the kissed. He pulled back and smiled.

"Sophie will you...will you um be my umm you know" I laughed and nodded. "Yes" He let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank god I was so scared" I laughed and laid my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me and we watched the stars. It felt like hours passed but when we went inside it was only 11:30.

"You can sleep in my bed" I said softly. He blushed and nodded. I took his hand and led him to my room. Everyone was in their rooms and Steve and Two-Bit were gone.

"Go under the blanket so I can change. I have a big plain tshirt Soda gave me you can wear" I tossed Johnny the shirt and he went under the blanket. I changed into a grey tanktop and plaid shorts. I told Johnny its ok to look and he quickly stripped to his boxers and tossed the shirt on. I laid my head on his chest once we laid down.

"I could get use to this" I laughed and looked at him.

"You can stay here for as long as you'd like Johnny" He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"Goodnight Sophie"

"Goodnight Johnnycakes"
