Part 8-the showcase

Hinata PoV
After talking to a few more families and groups of people and getting our hair and makeup don ewe finally left our room, alongside a coordinator. He led us out to the seats by the rink and pointed to a set of four reserved specifically for us. We were immediately bombarded with interviewers who somehow snuck onto the rink before they were allowed, asking us questions about the routine, our personal lives and what it's like to be coached by Dad and Pops. Uncle Yuri managed to shut them up and Yuuko seemed pretty pissed.

We put on our skates and continued to stretch and the rest of the skaters came out. "PHICHIT" dad yelled as a certain Thai skater headed our way to sit with us. "YURI! Wassup we haven't spoken in ages! You aren't performing?" "No, I'm still undecided on whether I'll compete or not but if I do I'll compete in the senior division. Victor and I came to support Shohei here." He ruffled my hair. "It's amazing to meet you, I watched all your competitions you are legendary" my eyes were sparkly in admiration, similar to when I see an amazing volleyball player. "I could say the same to you, I've watched you compete you have amazing skill and you're so young too. I'm so excited to meet you!" My head was spinning. Someone famous wanted to meet me? And they had seen me compete? My face went bright red and I turned my attention to some of the other skaters coming in. Apparently a lot of them had skated alongside dad in his last season so they started catching up.

Eventually the seats filled and I spotted Oikawa right at the front who winked at me and smiled. "Ooo do you have a crush? He is very good looking" "huh no definitely not don't embarrass me pops." "Awh come on Sho you know he's hot" Dad chimed in, must to my dismay. "Ok, I'll admit he is attractive, and funny, and really skilled at volleyball. But that doesn't mean I have a crush on him!" "Why did you ask for his number then?" "Just so we could talk about volleyball, we're on rival teams after all-"
"MAKE SURE YOU ARE ALL SEATED. CAN ALL SKATERS HEAD OUT ONTO THE ICE FOR INTRODUCTIONS" a loud voice on the speakers interrupted. I nodded towards Dad and Pops and stood up alongside Yuri and Phichit making our way towards the ice.

We skated in a line around the outside of the rink waving towards the people in the seats and ended up in a group in the middle. "FIRST UP WE HAVE YURI PLIZETSKY WHO TRAVELLED ALL THE WAY DOWN FROM RUSSIA TO PERFORM AT THE SAME PLACE HOT SPRINGS ON ICE HAPPENED 2 YEARS AGO!" the crowd cheered as he moved in front of the group waving and completing a spin. The announcer continued down the line and reached me exclaiming "AND NOW WE HAVE THE FAMOUS YOUNGSTER SHOHEI HINA WHO DROVE HERE FROM MIYAGI PREFECTURE IN JAPAN. HES STILL TECHINCALLY NEW TO SKATING BUT AFTER HIS SECOND PLACE MEDAL LAST YEAR HES GOING FOR GOLD" I did similar to uncle Yuri stepping forward waving and performing one of my signature jumps before getting back in line. Once everyone was introduced we headed back of the ice with 30 minutes before the first performance from Yuri.

We headed back to our seats where I got a pat on the back from my fathers and began chatting again. A buzz from my chair made me jump but Pops grabbed my phone saying "you have a phone call, Sho" I grabbed my phone from him looking at the screen to see Suga's contact name popping up.
"Hey Suga wassup?"
"Hey I just wanted to check in. Katsuki-san has turned the tv on so we'll be watching the showcase when it starts, have fun watching close up!"
"I will don't worry. I'll be back before dinner but I'll still need to unpack my stuff."
"We were planning on picking someone's room and playing some party games or something after dinner if you want to join"
"Uh yeah we can use my room if you want!"
"Ok well I'll let you get back to your family, see you later Hinata!"
"Yeah bye Mum!"

"Your mum wanted to wish you luck?" "Oh no that was Suga haha. He's our team mum and so we all call him that as a joke" the three adults chuckled at me. "Has your mum Said anything though?" "Oh yeah she called me at breakfast to wish me luck. She asked if I was ok or stressed and I just said I'm fine. Didn't feel like getting into it" "ok well get ready Sho, because I'm up in 5" "good luck uncle Yuri!"
