It's another day of school. A day to go and acquire more wisdom and socialize. Meet old friends and make new ones. Yay! I'm so excited I can jump out of a speeding vehicle into a busy road. Suicide attempt? I think not.

As I opened my locker to get my stuff, a note sat there, patiently waiting for me.

Meet me at the back of school after art.
Signed: Your secret admirer.

I looked around hoping to see someone who could possibly have dropped it. Seeing no one, I scrunched the note up into a ball, stood from a distance and dunked it in the bin.

"

Kobe!!" I shouted as it entered.

Grabbing my books, I started heading to my class even though it hadn't started. Call me a nerd if you like but I like to pick my seat and the one beside it. Going late means you have to sit wherever is free and you have no say who you sit beside.

Standing together in a heated conversation, stood Mop hair and Mouth odour.

M&M. If only they were as sweet.

Not even in the mood for them, I cleared my throat so that they'll get out of my way. Who stands in the middle of the road to talk about God knows what?

They both turned their heads in my direction and the serious expression morphed into a deep scowl immediately they saw it was me.

"Hey M&M, mind getting out of my way so I can get to class? Thank you"
As I roughly pushed past them, my face still in a wide grin. I'm so polite.

I felt my hair being yanked back as pain shot up my scalp. I guess they know nothing about politeness.

"Didn't your mama tell you not to mess with the hair?"
I said to Mop hair with a smile. Even I don't understand why I can't stop smiling.
"Hope the clinic has bandages because your friend might be needing one soon"
I said turning to Mouth Odour. Thankfully, he didn't reply.

Mop hair immediately let my hair go with a sneer.
"What do you think you can do to me?"
Godddddd not the voice!!!!

"I don't do cat fights honey. Pulling hair really isn't my thing. If you know what's good for you, you'll shut up before you leave with a black eye. And I'm not talking mascara or eyeliner type."
I replied, the smile finally leaving my face.

Faking confidence, she grabbed my jacket bunching it up in her hand and leaned close to my ear. As she was about to speak, I whispered loud enough for her to hear.

"Don't test me."

Her hand on my jacket faltered and whoever was in charge of the bell chose that moment to ring it. She took a step back as she grabbed Mouth Odour by the arm and walked away as fast as her short legs could carry her.

Straightening my clothes, I walked to my class to discover I was already late. So much for going early.

School was almost over for today. My last subject was art and heaven knows I can't draw or paint to save my life. It's even too messy. Stick figures were the best I could do and I wasn't even that good at it.

Walking into art class, I endured another 40 minutes of torture as I waited for the bell to ring. Quickly, I grabbed my bag and went home. I couldn't wait to crawl into my comfortable bed.

You thought I would go to the back of school to meet someone who wasn't even man enough to sign his/her name? You must be joking. The person even knew my schedule and that is creepy enough.

I heard the doorbell ring indicating that the guests had arrived. Hurriedly hopping down the stairs, the aroma wafting around the house hit me like a truck. My stomach growled and my mouth watered as I anticipated the time to eat.

"Scar, help me get the door so I can put food on the table"
Aunt Lola called from the kitchen.

"Okay"
I skipped to the door already high on the aroma of the food. It was like a drug that I couldn't overdose on.

Straightening my gown, I pulled the door open with a huge smile on my face but it came crashing down just as fast when I saw who was there. My left eye began to twitch and I could feel my temper rising.

"Scar, let them in. Why are you standing in the doorway?"
My aunt's head poked out from the kitchen as she came to receive her guests.

"Lydia, welcome. It's a pleasure to have you. Forgive my niece. I have no idea what is wrong with her today. She usually isn't like this."
My aunt started to apologize on my behalf.

"Thank you for the invite, Lola. This is my daughter, Alice."

My aunt rushed over to the daughter. She gave said Alice a hug as she led them into the dining room.
"Oh Alice. Such a lovely name for a lovely girl."

I scoffed, loud.

"Goodness gracious! That is very unladylike. Have you no manners? In the presence of guests for that matter."
Lydia said to me sternly.

In my own house. Maybe you should take your manners and stuff it where the sun doesn't shine.

"Forgive me. I had something stuck in my throat."
I lied as fluently as I could, keeping my anger in check.

Aunt Lola really wanted this dinner to work out so I'll try for her. Fake it till you make it,they say... Or something like that

"You really could have done better."
She said raising her head in the air, so stuck up.

I see where your daughter gets the attitude.

Mop hair kept giving me the stink eye not uttering a word. For someone who talks too much, this is really strange. On the bright side, my ears were safe.

Dinner was already starting great. And I got to meet 'Mama'...Yippeee!!
