"Hey! Where were you yesterday? I was so worried"
Diane said rushing to me the moment I stepped my foot on school grounds.

After the whole Alice issue, I didn't bother attending my last class. Both of us just went back to the third floor but avoided the last room because it came with a lot of memories.

Even getting close had her almost having panic attacks. To distract her, we just talked about random stuff to pass time and when the final bell rung, I walked her to her car and went home.

"I skipped the last class and went home."
I answered not bothering to explain. It wasn't even my place to tell.

I was having Math first. I'm not a nerd but I think math is actually fun. As long as you know the formula and how to apply it.

The only problem was remembering the formula and how to apply it.

Hopefully, today will be a topic I like. Walking into class, I saw a big, fat Trigonometry sitting on the board. I let out a groan as I took my seat.

My seat partner turned out to be Trent aka Mouth Breath. Thankfully, he took my outburst in the janitor's closet to heart and worked on it so talking to him was easier.

"Hey beautiful"
He smirked.

I ignored him taking out my things I needed for class.
Notebook. Check.
Pen. Check.
Calculator. Check.

"Thank you for saving my life, even though I've told you before."

That doesn't make us friends.

"K"

"Do you know kiss begins with k?"
He said as if it was a recent discovery.

I am so shocked!! I never knew. How could I possibly know? Goodness gracious. Let me grab my book and write it down. How could nobody have told me?

"The same way ugly begins with u"
I retorted. I was not in the mood for a conversation and he just wouldn't get the hint.

"Oouuuuu... Burn!!!"
I didn't even notice that other members of the class were listening in on our squabble.

Trent blushed as he looked away shyly. Thankfully, the teacher decided to make an entrance.

Trigonometry, here I come.

My stomach growled as lunch time approached. Letting out a yawn, I dragged my feet as I walked to my next class. After this and I can eat.

Diane was beside me headphones plugged in, no music playing.

The hallway was crowded as people tried to get to their next class. Someone bumped into me and I felt a very sharp pain in my back.

The pain wasn't subsiding as I fell to the floor trying not to scream. Tears were falling from my eyes as I let out whimpers. People around me started moving away like I was growing a second head.

Diane who was beside me one minute suddenly wasn't there anymore. I tried to find her but the pain was so much, I felt like I would pass out. My vision became blurry and just when I felt like I was losing consciousness, the pain let up.

I just stayed on the floor trying to catch my breath. Almost a minute after the pain let up, Diane reappeared beside me.

She looked at me with pity in her eyes as she helped me up and I was too drained to even ask her where she went.

Lunchtime that I had been waiting for went by even quicker and I was moving from one class to the other.

I was feeling better after the incident but what I wasn't understanding was Diane's strange behaviour.

Before it happened, she was there.
When it happened, she was not.
After it happened, she was there again.

She was also acting weird when people tried to approach me. A particular image of a boy flashed in my mind.

He was already giving me the bad vibes from afar but as he got closer, I felt this urge to avoid him, run, just do anything to get away from him. Diane was beside me and he gave her a cruel smile that gave me goosebumps.

She tensed up and speed walked away with her hand on my elbow. I was only happy to oblige.

"Want me to come in with you?"
Diane said offering me a sad smile. She wasn't in my next class and I didn't even want her to leave me.

"Nah. It's cool. Go to your own class before you're late."

She was hesitant but she eventually left. I took in a deep breath as I walked into chemistry.

•••

My last class for today was gym. Heading to the locker room so I could change, Clarisse and Nadia stood beside my locker waiting for me.

They were in the cheerleading squad and they were complete airheads.

Resisting the urge to roll my eyes, I walked to my locker shoving them aside as I opened it.

I took out my sports wear and started changing.

Maybe they were expecting me to give them my time but they were clearly mistaken.

They even looked confused, glancing at each other as if arguing over who should speak to me.

"Scarlet, stay away from Trent. He's mine!"
Clarisse finally said after minutes of debating.

How cliché. If I say I'm surprised, that's a very big lie.

"Let me see your papers of ownership. It's news to me that human beings are now property to own."
I said not even bothering to look at them as I closed my locker and walked out, leaving them standing there.

We were playing a game of volleyball today and coach had already divided people into teams.

"Scarlet, you're on Adam's team."
Referring to Abel by his last name.

Yay!

"Hey Tel! Are you okay?"
He looked at me concerned.

"Yeah! I'm all good. Let's get ready to whoop some butts"
I smiled, reassuringly.

Abel was the ace. As team captain, he had the hardest and most precise spikes. I wasn't so good but I wasn't that bad so I was at the back, making sure the ball didn't touch the floor but also defending.

We were almost winning the last set but the other team led by Creepy boy in the hallway was also good. For every goal we scored, they scored one of their own.

My team had managed to win the first set and his team had won the second so we were going neck to neck.

Fruit was also on his team but I had not spoken to him since.

Creepy boy in the hallway looked at me with an evil glint in his eyes as he aimed the ball in my direction. He looked so obsessed with me, like he wasn't even seeing anyone else on the court.

The ball packed so much momentum I was scared for my face. There was nobody to rescue me at this point and I couldn't run and leave the ball.

At the last minute, I dodged so that it wouldn't touch me and it went out. The coach blew the whistle that ended the game and my team won.

Everyone gathered around me and sweaty Abel went in for a hug.

Ewwwww...

Creepy boy in the hallway just kept staring at me with more hate in his eyes. How creepy.
