Hold up! I can breathe underwater?!

Doesn't mean he can. Knowing that I can't pull him above water, I dragged him towards the shallower end so his head will come up. That took up a lot of my energy because
1. He was very heavy
2. I don't even know how to swim and I'm learning under a lot of pressure.

As we got closer to shore, some good Samaritans helped pull us out of the water. My arms were heavy and I was super tired. A lot of people crowded round us, most with their cameras out.

"Give them space!"
I heard Amber shouting at them. Boy am I glad to see her. It was getting harder to breathe with all of them around.

A closer look at the boy showed it was Mouth Breath and he was unresponsive. I searched for his pulse but it was faint.

"Scar, you have to perform CPR!"
Amber said to me hurriedly as she tried to protect me from the crowd of people all trying to get videos of the live reality show instead of offering help.

Why me? Whyyyyy????

Closing my eyes and imagining Mouth Breath as Michelle Morrone or Zac Efron, I held his nostrils together with one hand, fixed my lips on his and blew air into his mouth while my other hand on his stomach did compressions.

Come on! Come on! You can't die here!

I repeated the process over and over while chanting the mantra in my head. Finally, he sputtered and began coughing up water as he inhaled.

I let out a sigh of relief as bystanders started cheering for me.

"You did it!"
Amber said to me excitedly as Mouth Breath kept looking around, trying to get his bearings.

Guess I just qualified to be a Nike ambassador. If you don't get it, I feel bad for you.

Saving a life, however, wasn't the trending topic on my mind.

Amber took me to a quiet part of the beach. The congratulations were already overwhelming. I only managed to save a boy from drowning.

It's no big deal so I don't even understand why they are treating me like a superhero. My clothes are wet and I am shivering like a wet chicken. If that makes any sense.

"Let me go get a blanket for you"
Amber said as she took a look at my pitiful state and set off running.
I closed my eyes and nodded, finding comfort in the sound of the waves crashing.

I just wish I could go home...

Opening my eyes to see what was taking Amber so long, I blinked as I took in the familiar surroundings of my room.

Wow! Never thought I'd admit it but thank you God for making me the daughter of a magical creature.

I took a hot shower and put on warm clothes. Going downstairs, I saw my aunt watching TV.

Her head snapped up once she saw me.
"Scar, I didn't see you come in. How was the party? "

Taking in a deep breath, I told her everything that happened up to the point of me appearing in my room. She just kept staring at me as if she saw a ghost.

"I left my car there so I'm going to try and get it."
I closed my eyes and waited.

I wish to go back to the beach.
