A/N: This has absolutely nothing to do with the chapter. I just really like this song, and My Hero Academia is awesome, so I thought I'd share it with you.

Anyways, on with the story! 😎

"Two weeks." Katrina tells me.

Two weeks until she leaves for Minnesota.

Two weeks to the day we must part.

Two weeks until my connector disappears.

I sigh and reply to her over the phone.

"Great."

She lightens her voice, trying to cheer me up. "Well, I guess we'll have to make the most of it."

I can't help but smile, "I guess we will."

We train and she never gives up, wanting to make the most of the time we have left. We're at our spot near the restaurant when she blacks out directly as we activate our ability. I try waking her up before she starts a fire.

Katrina squirms, mumbling incomprehensible words under her breath. I try to extinguish her flames, but it doesn't work. Only she can do that.

"Stop." She mumbles. "No." All of a sudden, her eyes snap back open, her fire disappears, and she screams.

It's not a normal scream though, it's as if two large pieces of metal were rubbing against each other.

Deafeningly loud.

I fall back from the force of it, covering my ears with my palms. Katrina slams her mouth shut, throwing a hand over it with wide eyes.

"U-um..." Is all she can stammer.

I stand up, ears still ringing as I shake my head to try and rid myself of the sensation.

"Sorry." She says, giving me a grin that betrays her embarrassment.

I shake my head again.

"It's fine. What was that?"

She just shrugs, "First of all, stop screaming, and secondly, I don't know. We already have our fire, why would I have anything other than that?"

"I'm not screaming, you're whispering. Let's just head back to the apartment and ask my parents."

She shakes her head, "Can you talk a little quieter? You're really loud."

I shrug and help her stand. "What was your dream about anyways?" I ask quieter, prodding just a bit.

"Remember when I told you about when I was dragged into that cage?"

I nod slowly and she continues.

"Well this time, the fire began burning me, and as the fire crept closer, I saw them. It was the man and woman. But they weren't just standing there, because you were there.

And they were fighting you. You were losing and I couldn't help. I was stuck and couldn't help you. The fire was closing in and you were laying on the ground, hurt. Then the woman appeared right in front of me and raised her hands. A bright blue light shot out at me but I woke up before it touched me."

I gape at her, and she frowns. "All I can hope is that these dreams aren't real visions."

"We haven't told you everything yet you two." My dad begins, sitting across from us as he starts explaining.

"Yes, you can control fire together, but you will each be able to wield two of your own abilities, something different that you can use independently. You will also have another ability that is for the both of you, like your fire."

I look over to Katrina as she stares at my dad, eyes wide "So that's why I almost made Jack go deaf?"

I laugh, "I was not going deaf. Ok. I was just-"

I purse my lips, searching for the right words.

"... shutting out the noise and expressing my concern for you."

Katrina snorts, "If concern is another word for hiding in a corner with hands covering your ears then yeah, you were very concerned for me. Also, you were yelling afterwards and hurt my ears."

She blinks innocently, pouting slightly and my dad looks between us, rolling his eyes.

"How you two are Connectors I will never know."

"So we'll both get separate abilities along with our fire and another mysterious creation?" I ask.

He nods, "Yes, yes you will."

When Katrina leaves me at her doorstep I begin to ponder to myself.

We can control fire and have more abilities on the way, Katrina has a deafening scream. I don't know what to call that ability.

What will my second ability be?

When will my ability form?

I end up walking back to the restaurant, wanting to practice alone. Since Katrina and I practiced earlier, I can use my ability.

So I walk around, playing with my fire, making spheres of the hot light and throwing them and random targets. Watching them fly before extinguishing so it doesn't catch any shrubbery on fire.

I repeat this for a while before moving on to forming a wall of fire around me. The wall can act like a shield that no one can touch but me and Katrina. It pretty cool to think about.

For a while I play around with the fire, experimenting with my ability and seeing what my limits are.

About an hour and a half later, I make the short walk home. It's late but I'm not tired so I change into a sweatshirt and sweatpants before sitting on the couch with a bag of M&Ms and the TV remote.

It's marathon time.
