- Reforge Sanctuary, some time later... -
Thanks to the valiant efforts of the Ionian and Accord soldiers, the Noxian offensive has stalled and lost its initiative to continue advancing to the heartland of Ionia. There was no massive battle that took place, but the Noxians were simply repelled against the bulwark of the combined forces of two different people. Along with skillful manuevering of the Accord cavalry, they pursued to imperial forces and caused them to lose even more initiative.
However, the allied forces knew that they cannot overextend their reach. They are strong enough to hold the lines, but they do not have the power to take the fight to their enemies nor do they have the chance to do so. They will either have to wait for reinforcements or find a weak spot in the imperial lines and breach it. For now, they have to stay put and dig their feet deeper.
There is progress and they have to take advantage of whatever they have.
The alliance of Accord and Ionians have had sound victories, but there were also setbacks and losses. The Navori Brotherhood and just recently, the mysterious Order of Shadows terrorized allied assets and harassed their supply lines. The Accord who has been leading the war effort could not tolerate this one bit and even though it will thin their forces down even more, they have to do something. Accord marines as well as Ionian volunteers organized into task forces were formed to secure their rear lines as well as hunt down those who are responsible.
Despite their efforts to contain the nuisances, it got to the point where (Anondric) had to assign several companies of his elite but scarce Myrmidons to deal with it. He'd much rather have his veterans to fight at the front against the real threat to their liberty, but he knows better than to neglect their reinforcement and supply lines. That said, he knows that it has to be resolved with as soon as possible so that they can focus their war efforts on a single front - a single enemy.
(Anondric) has just finished briefing yet another company of Myrmidons to deal with the threats on their rear lines. He huffed a sigh of relief. It has been quite a stressful time to be the General of the Accord and while his leadership combined with those of his officers and of the Ionians have yielded positive outcomes, they are still fighting an enemy that is several times larger and more powerful than they are. Having to tend to every single matter to make sure that everything is going well is taking the toll on him.
Irelia noticed it all too well and often offered to assist (Anondric) in whatever way she can, most of which were politely declined. He couldn't understand why she is so insistent on accompanying him on his travels from outpost to another, but thinking back to what happened some time ago, he had a hint. For now.
Letting another sigh, (Anondric) left the parade deck with his Chief Myrmidons, Pierre and Deviss. They made their way back to the main building which has since been renovated into a inner bastion of sorts to discuss the situation with whoever is present. Upon entering the war room of the bastion, (Anondric) found only a few officers inside, discussing something inaudible.
This has become a normal thing. Ever since the second war for Ionia broke out, his officer staff became divided and had to leave for various places to better control the movement of their troops and resources. Very few remained in the Reforge Sanctuary, and all of which had auxillary and/or supporting roles.
"General." Captain Tirpitz, the Naval Overseer of the Accord and brother to Captain Bismarck greeted (Anondric) with a salute which is followed by the rest.
"Captain Tirpitz. What have I missed?" (Anondric) inquired to Tirpitz as he as the officers took their seats.
"Not much to report, sir, but the few things that we do have will guarantee your interest." Captain Tirpitz declared as (Anondric) gave him his full attention. "The pirates from Piltover who provided our marines with the latest rifle technology have finally agreed to lend some of their ships to augment our squadron, thanks to my brother's unparalleled diplomacy." He said.
