✧ - A N N A B E L - ✧

even after Alex had left, I found myself humming along to Circles over and over again. Alex continued to astound me. he was so imaginative and beautifully gifted and talented. he didn't seem to realize his true potential either.

he was one of the best lyricist's I'd ever listened to. his words flowed together perfectly. no flaws.

"been out with Alex again?" teased Dean.

"oh, stop it, Dean." scorned Timothy.

"yes, Dean, I have." I laughed, pulling my parents in for a group hug. "if you guys want me I'll be in my room."

I felt truly happy. the happiest I'd been made to feel by someone in too long. Alex made my heart sing and butterflies fly in my stomach, he made me feel like a better person, and I had feelings for him. real feelings. and I needed to tell him.

I wanted to kiss him.

and I wasn't going to be afraid, I wasn't going to back away. tomorrow at school, I was going to find him and kiss him, no matter if my first kiss was magical or not, the only thing that mattered was that it was with Alex.

buzz. buzz.

my phone vibrated on my bedside table. an unknown number.

"hello, Ms Wavefield?" spoke an official sounding voice.

"speaking." I answered.

"hello, its Newfield Hospital. I'm calling on account of Mr Alex Gaskarth's health. there are no relatives on our system we can contact, but we had him down as visiting you a while ago while you were in our care. would you mind coming down here?"

"w-what's happened?"

"he's in room 56, it'll be easier to explain in person." the woman hung up.

I rushed down the stairs, grabbing my coat and stumbling into the kitchen.

"Dean I need you to drive me to the hospital now." I was trembling and my voice was already shaky.

"what's wrong?" Timothy asked, alarmed.

"Alex's in hospital."

I'd never seen Dean drive so fast and go through so many red lights. when we reached the hospital he let me out and told me he'd wait in the car. I ran into the hospital, my hair flying in my eyes and mouth.

room 56, room 56, room 56, room 56, I repeated in my mind. wasting no time, I located the room and burst in through the door, but no one was in there. I looked around confused, until I heard a notice coming from the bathroom.
