And here is my apology.

DOUBLE UPDATE!

* * *

I was crouched low to the ground with my ears flicking hastily around me. My eyes were darting around the cage. The vehicle (a shuttle, I think) came to a stop not to long ago, and since then its been quiet. No vibrations, no air currents, no nothing. It made me extremely anxious.

My brows furrowed when my ears caught onto the faintest sound that I would've missed if I wasn't paying so close attention. It was a soft whirring sound and a few slightly louder clicks later, my cage shook and started moving down.

A startled yelp left my snout when my face almost came in contact with the glass wall of the cage. My tail shifted around almost wildly to keep my balance when the cage tilted a bit. I could vaguely here a few voices but the words were muffled to together.

Another small stumble later the cage was gently settled down. At some point I was turned around and my mental compass was going wild in my panic and made my head spin. I dropped down into a crouch again and breathed in deeply. Whatever just happened sent my instincts into a frenzy.

I don't know how long I stood there, but it was long enough that I calmed down and opened my eyes. My gaze landed on my hairy somewhat feathery tai. I blinked when I realized I subconsciously curled into myself. It was very comfortable and familiar and mellowed my animal side.

The peace didn't last long though. It never does.

The cloth was removed from the entrance to the cage, which was to my right. I quickly turned and was momentarily blinded by the sharp. My amber eyes quickly adjusted and blinked in confusion when I saw two figures slightly to the side of the exit.

I blinked again. Was that grass? And trees I see in the distance? I must be hallucinating! My eyes cleared and sharpened. My focus was trained onto the grass not too far in front of me. Was it fake?

I took a deep breath and tasted the air. Wet dirt and healthy grass filled my senses with a heavy coat of cold, fresh air. The lab had excellent ventilation, but nothing bested pure air. A soft breeze washed lightly over my fur and a tight chain I didn't know was there snapped.

I let out a loud howl as I bolted out of the glass faster than I though I could. The Kymari by the cage jumped as I rushed past then, but I barely paid them any mind. I was out! Yes!

I pant happily and let my tongue flop out of my snout. My long legs stretched as far as they could and propelled me forward with impressive speeds. With it was the ripe soil digging in between my paws that were barley on the ground at his point. The wind washed away all my doubts and depression and I felt myself lighten.

The stone was chipped away and crumble into to dust that disappeared behind me. I couldn't- nor did I want to- stop the howl bellowing deep from my chest. It drifted along with the raging winds and bounced off of the trees coming into view. I quickly adjusted to the terrain and swerved around the trees with the grace and elegance of a cloud.

I felt the elation and raw joy coat my mind and body. I felt powerful! Like I could do anything!

But like i have said before, peace never lasts long.

I yelped as I almost ran into a tall wall. I quickly angled myself and leapt up so I could stop my momentum by pushing off a tree. My bones were jarred and the large tree groaned under the hard hit.

I was panting heavily as I stared at the wall. My ears and tail drooped when I realized that I was just placed into another, very large cage. A cage is a cage no matter how big. I huffed and swallowed hard in an attempt to wet my dry throat. It wasn't everyday that a Kaydenstrid ran that far, that fast.

I sniffed the air and closed my eyes, allowing my other senses the take over. No matter how hard I listened, sniffed and tasted the only water source was back in the direction I came from.

I huffed in annoyance. Of course the Kymari wouldn't leave food and water this far out, otherwise they'd never be able to catch me again. I really didn't know what I expected. I sighed and walked off in the direction of the water.

It took two hours and the sun was around an hour away from setting. A medium structure came into view, which I recognized as a typical Kymari house. It was blue-grey in color with a beautiful design. It was close to the wall where a large door was, about twice the size of a regular one.

I stalled when I was around a hundred feet away. The small cage was gone, but there was a Kymari settled in a chair in front of the house. Even though the grass only came up to my wrists, I still ducked low and stalked closer.

I was already aware that this was the only source for nutrition and my throat was burning from earlier and walking in the sun. I knew the second the Kymari flicked his eyes up that he knew I was there. No use in hiding, but I still stalked closer.

My tail and ears flicked when I realized that it was Kaieke on the chair. We locked eyes and just stared at each other. I felt myself relax slightly when I saw the cautious curiosity. He sat there, studying me. I did the same. He wore no armor, he had no weapons.

I lowered my head and tilted my head slightly. I broke the gaze and locked onto large bowls not to far from the house. I glanced over at Kaieke before I walked over to them. I kept my ears on him whilst I lapped up some milk and water. I turned to the other bowl with meat and started on it.

I was almost done with it when I heard him shift. My head shot up and my gaze snapped onto him. He was standing and slowly walking over to me. My ears flicked back and a rumble left my throat. He stopped advancing when I took a step back.

I kept a keen eye on him as he dug into a small bag and opened his palm. My ears perked when I saw the Peanana in his hand. I sniffed in its heavenly smell and took a small hesitant step. I never went closer and just watched him.

His dark eyes raked over my form, before he crouched and placed the nut down. Not even a second later he turned and walked away. I knew his attention was on me even when he was walking away, but still, turning his back on me was a sign that instantly clicked in my instincts.

Trust.

I blinked after him as he disappeared into the house and from my view. The sun last rays fell away as I bit into the nut.

Maybe, just maybe, he really didn't mean any harm.
