I yawned loudly as I heard Kaieke open the door to the porch. The sound was almost non-existent but I have very large and very sensitive ears. I blinked to clear the blurry film over my eyes. I turned my head to the sun and saw it just peeking over the large wall.
I lifted my head and sniffed the air. It was a warm morning and the air was fresh. I licked my lips and slowly rose to my feet as Kaieke filled my bowls.
I lumbered over, my muscles still relaxed and pressed my muzzle into the bowl with meat and nuts. I took my time eating as Kaieke retreated back into the house.
When he came back I saw he was carrying a bag out of the corner of my eye. I slightly raised my head to look at him. The green alien stopped next to me and took something out of the bag before dropping it.
In his hand he was holding a brush. It had hard, straight bristles and was long and thin.
Kaieke presented the brush to me and I took the opportunity to sniff it. It smelled like hay, so I assumed that's what the bristles were made of.
Kaieke lightly placed the brush on my neck and looked at me to judge my reaction. I just blink, yawned and snorted at him, before going back to eating.
Kaieke gave me a "really" look and wiped the wet drops off his face. He then pressed the brush deeper into my fur and started to brush it.
My ears twitched at the new feeling. It felt nice. Not as good as being pet but still enjoyable. I went to back to slowly eating my food.
I finished my breakfast in about thirty minutes and Kaieke stopped brushing me. I turned my head and nuzzled my nose into my side. The fur was smooth, but loose strands tickled my snoot and I sneezed.
Kaieke chuckled at me and I huffed back at him. Stupid alien. Laughing at me for something he caused. I turned my head away from him and pulled my ears back.
He laughed a little harder and gently pat my head and showed me his open palm. I blinked and took the Peanana from his hand. My tail wagged from the delicious treat.
Kaieke shook his head. "You are a cheeky one." I made a low grumbling sound in my throat and he grinned. Kaieke bumped his shoulder against mine in a show of friendship.
He dug through the bag on the ground and pulled out a small metal comb and started to run that through my fur, loosening more knots and dead hair.
I yawned again and closed my eyes, enjoying the pampering. I stood as still as I could and allowed him to do what he needs to do.
After that he pulled out a strange device. It was round with a weird bubble at the end of its square middle. Kaieke flicked a switch on the side of the square and pressed it into my fur.
I lightly jerked when I felt it sucking? Yeah, that's what it was. It was like a little vacuum. Only it wasn't loud at all. The feeling was very weird, but I bared with it as he ran the little vacuum over my entire body.
I'm guessing the vacuum was used to collect the fur and loose strands so he didn't make a mess. After he finished he came back with a similar brush like the first one, only this one was oval shaped with soft bristles.
Kaieke brushed me lightly with that brush before putting it away and taking the bag back into the house. The whole process took about an hour in total.
I shook out my body and saw a few hairs fall out, much less than I expected. I looked back to Kaieke when I saw him walking to the ring.
I dropped onto my front legs and stretched before trotting over to him. The tall alien opened the gate and stepped aside. I walked in without any hesitation. He closed the gate behind me.
Kaieke pulled out the metal tube and extended it. I pulled my ears back. My first memory with the poll wasn't the best. I puffed out my fur.
Kaieke gave me a sympathetic look. "I apologize, Annabelle. But there are a few things we need to work on before we have a chance at completing our mission."
My ears flicked in his direction.
Kaieke move next to me and clicked at me and pointed out to his right. I blinked at him and walk right till I was standing next to the railing.
"I have been analyzing your running pattern and thought over the day I first rode you." I looked at Kaieke. "And I have noticed a few things." He clicked his tongue and tapped the end of the pole behind me. I reared my head in displeasure, but started walking. He followed me.
"You have awfully low stamina. Which is strange for a species like you." Gee thanks. I cleared one round. "So I have made a strict training schedule to improve your stamina. And with that I will teach you how to pace yourself."
My ears flicked forward. I never thought of that. I thought it was normal for us to run out of breath. But the Kymari are smart. So they must be right on this. I never thought of pacing myself either. I'm not really sure how to do that right now, hopefully Kaieke has an idea how.
Kaieke clicked his tongue again and pointed to his right again and tapped the pole again. I shook my head and sped up into a trot. I was confused by what Kaieke was trying to do.
He would ask me to slow down, but when I do he would tap the back of my legs to speed me up again. But the moment I get to a certain point, he asks me to slow down again.
I turned to look Kaieke into his eyes. He was staring intensely at me. "Come on, Annabelle." He said encouragingly. I blinked at put my brain to work.
I watched his hand as he asked me to slow down. I did but sped up when I felt the light taps. The second I passed his hand in speed he asked me to slow down.
I think I see what he wants. To test my theory, I slowed down a bit and he tapped me, and I sped up but stopped so my head was aligned with his hand.
I kept up this pace for a few minutes and Kaieke grinned at me. "Good job Annabelle!"
I barked back at him and wagged my tail.
Maybe this might work out better than I expected.
I'm back guys! Thank you for your patience. I hope to complete this book this year!
