Chidera
"Why do you look more tired than me?" Tiana gaped. "I'm the one who was out all night, your definitely coming with me next time by the way."
I bit my lip and thought to last night and early this morning, I don't know if it was the nipple piercings or the fact we just haven't seen each other in a long time but it was the best session we've had by far no doubt about it. I do not the ache I'm feeling all over my body and I would happily go through it again. I didn't even bother to hide the hickeys.
"Chris." I replied, thanking the driver when he opened the door for me.
"You know what? You guys win." She laughed. "I don't even want to know."
"I swear every time I think it can't get better, it gets better." I told her. "The boy's stamina last night."
"At least someone is getting good D." She scoffed.
"Don't worry Toni will be here soon." I giggled.
"A sis is starving it's taking too long." She pouted. "Hey Mr Parker, do mind stopping at coffee shop on the way?"
"Not all Miss."
Coffee in hand Tiana and I waited patiently for my name to be called. Tiana was slowly dozing off on my shoulder, whilst I mindlessly scrolled through my phone to pass time.
A cute little toddler stops in front with opened mouth smile dripping with drool. He holds his arm out waving a simple hello and grin back him waving back. Happy with the response he got he waddled back to his mum who sees me and waved.
In that moment I saw Chris and I with a child of our own. A little me or him running all over the place squealing and Chris chasing after them. I chuckled, imagine both our personalities combined in one person. A piece of work.
"Chidera Igoe."
I get up before my name is called again and waved at the doctor. Tiana was jogged awake and stood up groggily as we walked to the doctor.
"Morning Chidera." She greeted. "How are you today?"
"Morning, I'm good thank you and yourself?" I replied.
"I'm fine thank you." She lead us to her room, gestured for the two of us to sit. I looked around the neat room, taking note of the art on the walls. She looked to the painting of a naked black woman.
"I'm a sucker for art pieces." She told us with a smile.
"I like that one." Tiana commented. "It's quite beautiful."
"It is." She nodded. "Even though I myself is not a black woman and the painting speaks a thousand words I hope to understand one day."
I nodded looking back at the painting, it was very detailed and embodied what a black woman is, scars and all.
"Anywaya back to main reason why were here." She spoke, turning to face me. "How you feeling?"
"To be honest, a little nervous but other than I feel fine." I answered.
She went other mandatory questions which I answered as honestly as I could. As she went to type everything I said I spotted the booklet and my heart dropped down to my stomach. I twiddled with my fingers as I tried to count to ten and think happy thoughts.
"Okay, so last time you was here you went for an ultrasound correct?" She asked.
I nodded.
"Before I continue you don't mind your friend here knowing?" She gave me a small smile.
