Chapter 6

Virgil yawned and looked around,he soon realized that he fell asleep on Roman's shoulder.

Virgil floated away and bit back a yelp,Roman was still sound asleep.

Virgil floated to the window and sighed as he looked into the nearby forest,Virgil started getting hungry as he looked for Ramen"no more?ugh!"Virgil grabbed some eggs from the fridge.

"M-Maybe I could cook these?they look e-edible."Virgil looked to Roman welp,he's not paying attention.maybe I should wake him up so he can cook these?

Virgil looked to the three eggs in his hands but he'd be so proud if I cooked him something,it could be a thank you for letting me stay!Virgil took out a pan how hard could this be?

Virgil put the pan on the stove"t-these twister t-things have to mean s-something..."Virgil turned the heat dial and then looked to the eggs"now what do you do?"Virgil took a egg and smashed it into the pan.

The egg then started to cook"a-alright."Virgil took the others and smashed then into the pan,shell and all.

"How long s-should I wait?"Virgil stared at the eggs"m-maybe when it's b-brown on all sides."Virgil nodded"that s-sounds right."

Virgil sat on the counter and waited with a small smile"R-Ro's going to be so h-happy when he sees the eggs!"

After about five minutes the air in the kitchen made Virgil's throat itch,he cleared his throat and looked to the eggs"it's still white."he mumbled before coughing.

Patton whined and walked to Roman and nudged him"Patton I don't wanna..."Roman groaned turning away from him,Virgil's throat started to hurt as his coughs cane closer together.

It's getting hard to breathe now,maybe I should turn it off?Virgil coughed three times without break and gasped for air,Patton barked at Roman and sat up"what is it?"he grumbled before sniffing the air"is something burning?"

Virgil coughed and gasped again as he curled up on himself I can barely breathe,I need to turn this off."Virgil!"Roman yelled running over and turning of the stove before opening a window.

Roman put his hands of Virgil's shoulders"Virgil,you need to breathe.ok?"Virgil breathed in and out and soon his coughs died away as he calmed down.

"Virgil,why did you let the eggs burn!?"Roman asked the alien who brought his knees to his chest"I w-wanted to cook you s-something."he mumbled guiltily.

"Virgil we don't know how sensitive you are to things like smoke,please don't ever do that without me!"Roman ordered"smoke?"Roman nodded"it's unclean air,Virgil.you looked like you could hardly breathe,are you ok?"

Virgil nodded"I'm fine..just a bit tired from coughing."Roman nodded"how about you rest while I go out with Patton to get food,ok?"

Virgil found himself on the couch"can I come with you?"Roman shook his head"if you're that sensitive to smoke then you can't go into town,not for a while at least."Virgil sighed"ok."

Roman pulled the blanket to Virgil's waist in case he didn't want a blanket"do you want to watch TV while I'm out?"Virgil nodded and Roman turned on the TV"bye,Virgil.and stay right there when I come back,ok?"Virgil nodded.

Roman walked Patton through town when he found a pharmacy"if he gets mad at you for buying it,just tell him he needs it."Roman mumbled before walking in.

Roman found a purple inhaler he seems to like purple,maybe I can hide some stickers for it?Roman turned and went to the cashier"you seem new,lung problems?"she asked.

"Yes I'm new but I'm buying this for a friend."Roman supplied,the cashier rang him up and put the inhaler in a bag"well I hope your friend has a nice day."Roman nodded then turned and walked away.

Virgil sighed as he continued processing this language before him,though the channel he was on made him feel like he was loosing braincells(take a wild guess what the show is)

Virgil heard the door open"you're home!"Virgil sat up and smiled at Roman,he blanket over his head.

Roman awed"you are so damn cute."he whispered"wait what?"Roman blushed"nothing,anyways I got you something."Virgil floated over with his blanket cape"what is it?"

Roman held out the inhaler to Virgil"this can help you when there's too much stuff in the air,it's clean air!and I got you some stickers to decorate it!"Virgil looked at the inhaler put in his hands"oh...thanks,I guess?"

Roman put the bags on the counter"I know you didn't want it but after what happened I think it can help you,maybe then you can come with me to town."Virgil's tail began to wag"really!?"

Roman chuckled"yeah,just tell me when it's empty ok?"Virgil nodded"I will,thanks!"

Virgil looked at the purple inhaler then to a box of stickers Roman gave him,Virgil took a lightning bolt and cat and stuck them on"perfect."

Roman was outside with Patton as Virgil put away the inhaler and looked out the window at them,Patton was chasing Roman who had a stick.

Roman then stopped and let Patton bump into him,Roman chuckled and sat on the ground to pet his dog.

Virgil rested his chin on his palm as he watched,Roman was a good guy.

Roman stood up and run a hand through his hair before noticing Virgil and smiling at him,Virgil felt his face get warm"werdada!"he cursed as he ducked down from embarrassment.

Roman chuckled softly"that weirdo."he mumbled before looking to Patton"let's go inside,Patton."Roman then walked to the door with Patton behind him.

Virgil began to float and grabbed his inhaler as Roman walked into the house"Roman,look!"Virgil proudly showed Roman his decorated inhaler,Roman smiled"you did good,Virge!"

Virgil put the object in his pocket"does this mean we can go into town now?"Roman bit his lip"not yet buddy,but soon."

Virgil sighed"fine.."Roman smirked and ruffled Virgil's black hair"c'mon,let's go watch something."
