Chapter 9

Shawn's pov

"Dude she's a photographer you said?" I was hanging out with Brian and Connor who are my best friends, we've been friends for as long as I can remember. I've been friends with Brian since we were two little kids not having a single clue what life was going to bring us. Just two Canadian dudes going through whatever shit was happening in our lives.

When I moved to L.A, Brian had come along with me to pursue his career as a film director and it's honestly been hectic for the both of us. Our lives has changed drastically in the past few years. Like me, he too has an apartment in Toronto, where we live at and we go back home every now and then when we get the chance to.

I actually met Connor here in LA. I met him at this party I went to, he was talking to me about his work and vice versa. We kicked it off and became very close friends, I introduced him to Brian and we've all been friends ever since. I absolutely love them even though they get on my fucking nerves sometimes. But they're honestly the best.

We were at my apartment and the conversation somehow ended up going to Camila,and I was telling them about her and how we met and that I asked for her number. Yeah they definitely did not let that pass.

"Yeah she is." I answered Brian.

"Damn dude, she's cute and quite hot." he said scrolling through her Instagram feed.

"Wait, she's Camila as in Camila Cabello?" Asked connor looking at me.

"Yeah, why? Do you know her?" I asked curious.

"Yeah yeah!! I know her, I've worked with her before actually. She's so nice and friendly and she definitely is beautiful." I'm not surprised that he knows her, I mean they're both photographers so it's not surprising.

"Ah that's cool, I know from what I've encountered she is really nice and I don't know, she seemed to kind of have the same reaction I had seeing her for the first time. It's probably just me being stupid and delusional though." I said shaking my head at the thought of her liking me at first sight.

"I mean you never know, maybe she does like you and is interested in getting to know you."

"Yeah what connor said, have you talked to her after the photoshoot? Like text or anything?"

"No I haven't, I was actually planning on calling her today or tomorrow."

"Well you should, I don't know what's taken you so long, I would've called her the second you fucking left the studio, shit."

"I know, I was busy..okay..but i'll call her soon, i guess."

"You guess?! Shawn I'm telling you right now..if you don't call her and take her out...I will."

"Fuck, me too." Connor said.

"Nah I'm calling her as soon as you idiots leave." I said causing us to laugh.

"Hey we're not idiots, at least not all the time." Brian said taking a sip of his beer.

"Aha suurree." They're definitely idiots.

I was now in a book store searching for new,interesting books to read. I love reading, I've loved it the moment I read the Harry Potter book series. The best, I love Harry Potter with a passion, I have a book with all the spells written in which i don't regret doing at all. The point is i don't get to read much because of my busy schedules and that's one of the things I dislike about this job.

But I make sure to read on off days so I was now looking through some books hoping to find a perfect one. As I was going through one of the books I looked up to find a familiar brunette who is no other than Camila Cabello.

I was going to call her yesterday after Brian and Connor had left but I forgot and made a mental note to myself to call her the day after which is today. And now I casually spot her in my local book store, coincidence or what.

I decided to walk up to her and hopefully I can ask her out right now, that way I don't have to call her and can do it personally.

"Camila?" She had her back turned to me now, turning around as I called her name. Her hair cascading down her back and shoulders, her hair is so beautiful and amazingly long.

"Shawn?" She said looking surprised to see me.

"Hey, how are you." I said smiling.

"I'm good and you?"

"Same,I was just going to call you actually."

"Ah really now, the both of us being here at the same time must not be coincidental then." she said giving a chuckle.

"Ahaha probably not, do you come here often?" I said starting a conversation.

"Not really, this is not my usual book store but I've came here a few times. What about you?...do you come here often?"

"Uh yeah but no, I don't come here much because I don't necessarily have the time but when I do have time I love coming here and looking for new and fun books to read."

"Oh..are you an avid reader?" She asked smiling up at me.

"I don't know, I'd consider myself one, yeah. What about you?"

"Yeah i'm definitely a book worm," She said chuckling. "Reading is always so fun and entertaining especially when it's the right kind of book."

"Yeah I agree, what's your favorite book?"

"Uh the book thief, I really love that one."

"I've read that before, it's so good."

"I know right!!" She said smiling.

"Yeah, hey uh...are you doing...like anything tomorrow?" I asked her, I'm not gonna lie, I am a little nervous, I don't know why, but I am.

"No not that i know of, why?"

"Uhm...I was just wondering...do you wanna go like out tomorrow..with me...uhm like I know this place we can maybe go to for lunch?" I asked scratching the back of my neck.

"Yeah we can do that." she said smiling, I let out a breath I didn't even know i was holding.

"Okay I'll send you the location later and..we meet there tomorrow at noon?"

"Yeah that sounds great."

"Okay good, I guess we'll see each other again tomorrow."

"Yeah tomorrow it is." she said smiling and honestly her smile is the most beautiful thing ever.
