The next day Grady and Edaline brought me to the Matchmaking Center. I've already been here before so I knew exactly what to do. I was checked in right as I walked through the door, so I just took a seat and waited.
"You excited?" Edaline asked.
"Ugh, I don't like coming here. It means that you're growing up," Grady complained.
"Oh knock it off. This is a wonderful part of Sophie's life."
"But it means that Sophie isn't a little-"
"Sophie Foster?" A young lady said from the back door.
"That's me," I say, standing up so I can leave Grady and Edaline to arguing over if I should be doing this.
She motions for me to follow her. She brings me to a room with mirrors for walls and tells me that the Matchmakers will be in shortly. I take a seat on the only stool in the room. I don't feel comfortable seeing myself anywhere I look. I've never liked how I look. But now that I'm the only Elf with brown eyes, it makes me even more uncomfortable.
I sit there for what feels like hours when two young women walk into the room.
"Hello, Sophie Foster, right?" I nod. "I'm Calista and this is Gemma. We will be your Matchmakers. We will be creating your lists and we are the only ones who know who your biological parents are."
"We are so sorry about your father," Gemma says. "Your mother isn't much better, no offense to the Councilor, but still."
There was an awkward silence before Calista said, "Let's begin, shall we?"
I nod.
"Okay, so we know who your biological parents are, now we just have to make sure that you are matchable," Calista said tapping her screen.
"Wait, I thought I was matchable after I figured out who my parents are," I pointed out.
"Sorry, I meant that we need to see if there are others who you are matchable with," Calista clarified. "Here we go."
They both tapped their screens and waited for the results to be sorted through. After a couple of minutes, both screens beeped.
"Well, congratulations, you are matchable!" Gemma said. "We are going to give you this packet for you to complete. You are to answer every question honestly so that we can find you the best matches." She passes me a giant packet. "When you are done with it, just turn it in and we will get your first match list as quickly as possible."
They led me out of the room and back to the lobby. Grady and Edaline walk over to me and lead me outside.
"This thing is huge," I say, barely being able to hold it.
Sandor takes it from me before I end up falling over.
"Well, they need to know everything about you so they can get you the best list for you," Edaline replies.
"But if you don't feel comfortable with all of this you can always not turn it in," Grady suggests, which earns him an elbow to the ribs. "Ow."
I laugh a little, "I think I'll be fine. It just seems so big."
"You'll be fine. Besides, it's worth it in the end," Edaline says. "And we get to have a Winnowing Gala for you." I begin to object, "Nope, we are having one for you, even if Keefe is on your list."
"Fine," I say reluctantly.
"When we get home there's a surprise waiting for you," Edaline says.
"But remember, we will be close by," Grady says.
"No, we won't, we are going on date for the night. So you will have the house to yourself." Edaline hooks her arm throw Grady's. "We will back around 11. Have fun!" She pulls Grady into a path and glitters away.
I create a beam to Havenfield and pull Sandor along with me.

When we arrive at Havenfield Sandor says that he'll be waiting inside.
"You go up to Calla's tree," He instructs.
I head up to Calla's tree and notice lights hanging from the branches. As I get closer I hear that Calla's song has changed to a slower, romantic melody. I look around and see a blanket laid in the grass with a picnic basket sitting on top that's when I notice a figure coming from behind the tree. I quickly pull a dagger from one of my hidden pockets and aim for the figure.
"Woah Foster, you can put the knife away," A messy blonde-haired boy said.
"Keefe, you scared me," I said lowering the knife.
"Foster, knife away." He waits until the knife is put away till he says, "I should've figured that that's how you'd react to a person coming from behind a tree. Especially when they are being silent."
"Keefe, what is this?" I say, blushing.
"I just thought that we needed a night to ourselves. I haven't gotten to spend much time with you without having to make sure you don't get hurt."
"I will bet you anything that I'll find some way to hurt myself," I joke. "And you can't deny it, you know it's true."
"Okay, you're right. YOu probably will find a way to hurt yourself. But let's avoid that as much as possible. Deal?" Keefe asks.
"Deal," I agree.
"So, how did getting your packet go? Did you turn out to be Matchable? Or did they say you're too powerful to get Matched?" He smirks.
"Oh shut up." I blush. "I'm obviously Matchable. If I wasn't I wouldn't be so happy."
"Okay, true. Do you want to fill out our packets together? I got mine earlier this morning."
"Sure, but let's not talk about Matchmaking. Let's just enjoy a night to ourselves."
Keefe leans in and kisses me. The night was mostly full of small, quick kisses, but eventually, we both fell asleep to Calla's music.
~~A/N~~
Hey guys!!! Been a while since I talked to you all. How you all doing? How's the story so far? What do you think I should add/change?
So I've been reading a lot of Wattpad and I'm normally reading Sokeefe books, Tris + Four, or Hunger Games books. I've just gotten into Percy Jackson and I'm waiting for the libraries to open back up (Stupid Covid-19 makes it so I can't even get any books to read!) so that I can get the next series, I'm on The Lost Hero.
Is it just me or do you guys stay up till 1-2 in the morning reading? I just got The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and it is literally the best thing ever!!! It's about the 10 Hunger Games and the main character is Coriolanus Snow. Coriolanus Snow!! As in President Snow.
Anyways, I hope you guys are doing good. Stay safe out there. It's a scary time with all the riots and Covid-19. I hope you find some joy in my stories.
