Chapter 1

Castles PoV
Phew, it's been a long day. Almost freezing to death and then disarming a bomb...We hugged, which can be seen as progress... What did she actually want to say when we were dying in each other arms? Did she want to tell me that she loved me? "Bullshit! You saw the way she hugged Josh. Why would she be with Josh if she loved me?" he rebuked. He had spoken aloud in the belief that he was alone, but Martha answered him as she came down the stairs from above, "Because she's not ready for it yet, boy. She has no idea how you feel about her. You two need to talk before it's too late." "Mother! You were supposed to be in the Hamptons with Alexis!" he said in shock.
"But, sweetie, the danger's over, thanks to you and your partner, so stop looking at me like that and go see her."
"It's not that easy..."
"Of course it's not. It proves that you love her for the person that she is."
"Even if I'll tell Kate, what if she likes Josh better? Or if she..."
He didn't get any further, because Martha shook her head and said "Come on now. The right time will never come."
"You mean because we've been through this thing now, I should tell her?"
"My speech, kid." She winked at him and left the loft.

He also left the loft and called an Taxi and he named the driver Becketts address, but then he thought about it and said: Oh sorry, forget it.
And went back to his loft.
"I cant tell her it now. She is probably with Josh... I will tell her it tomorrow at the precinct."
The next day
He brought her a cup of coffee just like every morning and just like every morning she smiled and said Thanks.
He tried to talk to her but then Ryan came along with an new case. _Are you kidding me? Come on. Okay, then in the evening. You can do it!_
He went to the bathroom, looked in the mirror and checked his hair. Now he is on his way to Beckett's desk. Looks like she is doing some paperwork and when she heard Castle's footsteps she looked up in surprise and said:" Oh Castle, what are you doing here? The interesting stuff is over for today."
Castle smiled:" Could I help you somehow Detective?"
"No. Go home and I am a grown up girl, didn’t you notice that?"
"Oh of course I did, how long will it take?" , he said with an look at the papers in front of Kate.
"Not long, why?" Beckett asked interested.
He started to stutter:" Well, I thought we could uh ... Maybe ... Maybe go somewhere and drink one or two beer and talk?"
Finally!
Beckett examined him and when she answered, his heart stopped for a few seconds.
