Chapter 3

As soon as Beckett walked into the old Haunt she felt nervous because no other people were around. Castle noticed the strange look on her face and asked : "What's wrong Detective?"
"Nothing, it's just uh we're alone. Where are the other guests?" Beckett replies. "Oh that, yeah today is our day off, no guests who could bother us. Is that a problem?" he asked in that special tone.
She couldn't look into his eyes instead she went to the bar and said: "No of course not." She heard his footsteps, he is following her. "No, I am serious Detective, if you feel uncomfortable... " Beckett interrupted him:  "No, I don't. So and now bartender gimme a tequila." Castle did what she wanted and had a weird smile on his face.
"What?" she asked.
"Tequila huh? I'll take a scotch. So... How do you feel?" he asked placing his ass at the chair next to hers.
"Feel about what?" she asked after she took a sip.
"About today obviously."
She blushed and tried to hide it before she responded with a smile: "Oh yeah...Just a normal day at work" Castle laughed and also took a sip from his scotch. He looked her straight in the eyes. She couldn't handle it a long time 'cause she felt like she could drown in his so she quickly looked somewhere else.
"How are Alexis and your mum?" she said trying to fill the silence.
"Well they aren't in the Hamptons anymore, but I guess that's okay, after I saved the world" he said proudly. Beckett didn't say anything so he continued : "They are fine, Alexis probably wants to tell Ashley all about it, but I didn't allow her to."  Now Beckett said: "And that's the right thing." Castle nodded and said: "How's Josh?"
She looked at him again, trying to find out why he was asking her that. I know he is curious or maybe he just wants to be nice... Or maybe he is jealous? Nah Kate, why would he be? "Hello? Earth to Detective Beckett? Are you there?"
"Yeah, sorry, I- He is doing well, I think." hoping he would notice that she doesn't want to talk about him.
He did and changed the topic: "Drink Beckett, we nearly died saving the world, we deserve this." and he did what he said. Kate watched him and she noticed that she smiled. She also drank a bit from her Tequila but Castle wasn't fine with it and said: "C'mon, is that the only thing you are able to do? How boring..." he was clearly challenging her and Beckett accepted. What did she had to loose?
And a few seconds later her glass was empty.
She looked at him: "Better?"
He laughed and said: "Hell yeah."
"So, Rick, now tell me, why you wanna make me drunk?" she said not meaning it seriously.
Castle chose to be surprised : "Me? Making you drunk?"
"Exactly."
"Uh, maybe because I would like to dance with you Detective?" he explained pretty quite, but she understood him.
Teasingly she said: "Oh lord, not drunk enough to do that" He looked at her for a few seconds and than he made her a shot, finished his scotch and made himself also one.
She laughed and said:" Alright, let's go." They drank at the same time and putting his glass away he told her : "You know, it feels good. To save the world..."
"Oh Castle I get it. I was there with you, you are a hero, now stop that."
"OK ok, sorry, but what I wanted to say, before you interrupted me was: it feels good to bring justice into this world. I truly understand why you are doing this and I wanted to say I support that and I am there for you anytime you need someone." he said, gently looking at her eyes. She felt something... something beautiful and there she noticed that his eyes moved to her lips, so she bide it a bit to see his reaction but there was non... Or?
Kate! Stop. That. Now. Obviously he waited for her to answer so she just said: "Copy that, thanks. "
