Jolie's POV
I decided to take the long route home that day. On my board, I roamed all the streets of my familiar town. There at that one sop sign, my mom shipped me off to school for the first time. There, up in that tree, i remember staring out into the sky, before of course i fell down and broke my arm. This town of mine was home and i'd miss it terribly. After a while I began to enjoy myself... This was only until of course my mom pulled up beside me in her ford truck. I continued to skate though. Not taking the hint, She drove by my side. I finally stopped. My tension level back once more.
"Hi mom. What do you want"
I sucked through my teeth. She smiled sadly and started...
" Honey! Jo Jo bear..,"
My left eye twitched. I hated the name Jo Jo bear. To me it was just... Disgusting. Yet on she went,
" This change is good. You're going to a good school. You'll be right on the beach. And there will be plenty of boardwalk and main streets to ride your contraption on!"
I pondered this a second and ignored the hurtful comment to my skate board.
•A new High school.
Well all High school are butt so no avoiding that. What ever.
•A beach.
I've always wanted to be a walking distance to a beach! Plus.
• boardwalk, streets?
The were always a plus in my book.
And John and Kim could always visit. I think it would be pretty hard to live with out them.
John had the most adorable brown hair that In any direction could swoon a girl. His bright yellow brown eyes melted most to the core. Last year I had the biggest crush on him. Of course that never happened. I simply wouldn't allow it. Now I saddened at the thought at how he's nothing more then a brother to me. As is Kim.
Kim was the definiton of a Cali Sufer dude. When I say the man is ripped with muscle, i am not exagerating. John and I loved to mess with him about his tan 'yummylicous' hot bod that girls are attracted to. Once a blonde bimbo name Lindsay and Kim went out for one date, yes. only ONE... and that didn't last to long. After two days of not hearing anything, she stormed to the skate shop to talk to him. Insisting Mr. Yummylicous hot bod loved her. We still mess with him about it today The reality was I'd miss my best friends to peices.
Finally I got into my mothers car. Sighing in triumph she looked to me and said...
"I love you... but your so stubborn!"
I smiled, knowing it was infact true.
Despite being on better terms with her, i decided against small talk. The silence that lingered was one of pure understanding. I wanted to soak is each traffic sign, each little shop, each memory.
Finally home. I walked up the apartment stairs to get to my front door. We lived in a more dangerous part of town, but hey! It's .... Not much. I squeezed into the tiny teensie little hall and found my way to the living room. I didn't actually have a bed. So I crashed on the floor letting my mom have the couch. It was a one bedroom place but my mom decided it's be a better use of closet. Needless to say, her money management was a bit hay wired.
After my dead left her to be with his mistress, what ever the hell her name was. My mom sort of lost it. She was always as people might say " eccentric." but now it was a bit too much. I could only ever hope for her to one day, find a good man. Settle down once again and live life happily.
After a dreamless sleep, I was being shaken. I woke up to find all of our things packed up. There were only like three boxes.
"Mom. What happened to my clothes.", my eyes narrowed in her direction.
My mom's frazzled hair and eager eyes insisted,
"There at the house already. So is everything else. Just these last boxes! "
Greeeeat. All we had to do was get up and go. I went to the truck and jumped in the back open storage area a truck usually has. Where the air could flow through my hair and I would see the world in perfect view. I already had my board tied to the back contemplating my plan.
Back when my dad was still in the picture, we would tie our boards to the back of the truck as someone drives normal speed so the other could be on the skate board, clinging on to the back metal. It was definitely going to give me a rush. It always did.
Everything was going smooth until my mom stuck her head out the window and yelled.
" get in this passenger seat!"
Sighing. My plan ruined I got in the blue truck.
I closed my eyes and stupidly said my good byes. Good bye old Town, you've treated me well. Here you gave me a childhood i cant ever forget. here, I've made friends who will last a life time. Dont miss me too much.
Time passed quickly and We entered the town so far everything seemed decent. There was a skate shop from what i could see so far... I stared at the window with a miserable look. It was defiantly sun town. It just wasn't MY town.
We drove past the population sign. There was a population of 1514. This was definitely a small town. Not terribly small but miniscule compared to before.
As we drove, people began to stare at us. We were aliens on their turf. We were an eye sore. As people kept their eyes directed at the unfamiliar car. I kept looking out the windows.
My eyes raked everyone. There were many adults. Not a lot of kids to be seen. An average amount of teens and young people. Sighing I looked away. We reached a stop sign In the middle of the new town and so I said to my mom.
"Mind if I explore a little early? Just text me the house address and ill meet you there later..."
Shaking her head yes. I grabbed my board swiftly and jumped out the car.
Now it was just me. Alone.
Time to explore
