Chapter 10

P.O.V Joe

Lunch was long and it seemed almost never ending. Daxton would stare at me. Hunter would grumble to himself while Lindsay! looked sad because of a chipped nail. Me and Jeff sat quietly and continued to eat. Pff! Like I was gunna starve cause drama, which wasn't really even that serious.

The rest of the day seemed strangely un eventful. Today I decided it was best just to ride home. Once again it was just me and my baby. Only the pavement gliding me to my destination. I rejoiced in the cool caress the wind provided.

Daxton was so different yet the same. My mind swirlled with memories of before. A time where we stood up till three in the morning talking about our future, ambitions, amd dreams. The feeling of his warm hand on my lower back and how my heart would race.

Then I remembered how I felt when we broke up. its strange how in one moment, if fate decided, she could tear apart the world you once thought to be so secure. Right now it pained me to say this but skating provided to bea fruitless attempt to forget everything. What I needed was a good old fashioned distraction.

My mind wandered to who I would get this distraction from. Sitting down on the random bench, I took my phone out. Scrolling through my contacts I sighed. Hunter was a no considering i pretty much think he hates me. Kim and John were probably busy as always. Claire and Hank were most likely making out some where, and Jeff... well maybe. I decided he was my best option. I didn't want to seem pushy, especially after lunch today. Finally I gathered the courage and pressed call.

The phone dialled and finally, someone answered. "Jeff? Are you there?" A moment of silence passed an another voice answered. " Oh. its you..." Hunter answered the phone. I heard some shuffling from the phone and arguing... hm. What's going on?

With a lot of struggle, Jeff took the phone. Sounding breathless, his deep voice called for me. " Joe? is it really you?" The hope in his voice was endearing. Smiling I stated " No I'm superman, of course its me." I cleared my throught amd continued, " I was wondering if you wanted to hang out... as friends. I don't know. I just need a friend at the moment." The honesty and rawness of my voice shocked me. Jeff seemed shocked at first. " I'm with hunter right now..." I quickly interrupted him. " if your busy its fine." Jeff quickly said. " Pick you up at 6." I smiled and did a mini happy dance.

P.O.V Jeff.

To say I was shocked would be an understatement. Hunter sat looking bored and a bit annoyed. " Bye man. Mah lady has called and she needs me. " I moved to gather my things and as I reached the door something grabbed my arm. Hunter grumbled, " Well can i at least come with you..." I just shrugged and carried on making my way to my car. Jo was most likely waiting for me.

Hunter reached the passanger door before i stopped him. " Hey Hunt! where do you think your sitting?" I laughed. The look of utter confusion plastered on his face was enough to make a crowd laugh for a while. " In the front...." Hunter replied. Though it was harsh i decided to stick to what i was saying. " The front is for Jo..." Hunter turned slightly red then began, " Are you freakin kidding me. You want me to sit in the back seat..." He paused and then began again " Like a child." I smiled and winked at him. " You know it Hunter. Just get in." Grumbling his way into the back i drove to where she was.

A few minutes later she was visible from my car. I smiled happily and looked to Hunter. " Hunter! Look! She really wanted to hang out!" I felt pretty happy. I dont know. In my mind, Jo was great. Hunter just laughed at how excited i was and kept quiet. Jo appeared by the door. " So are you gunna let me in or what?" She smiled. I hopped out the side of my door to open her car side playfully bowing and saying, " My Lady." Of course she smiled and replied, " Why thank you kind sir." And Off we drove.

P.O.V Hunter

" Well aren't you going to say hello?" I said. Jo jumped from her seat. " Oh... Hi? Sorry i didnt know you were coming." She shrugged and looked away. Jeff was just bouncing. He turned on the radio and we were off once more. I was curious as to where we were being driven. " So what are we doing this lovely evening." I stated sarcasticlly. In all honesty, I wasnt really that mean of a guy. I just was not .... nice. i dont know. Jeff rolled his eyes and looked at me through the rear view. " Why where ever the road takes us cupcake." Jo let out laugh. Great this is going to be a loong day.
