POV Jolie
As soon as I got into the house I ran to my mother and hugged her for dear life. " I love this place mom." I had an actual room to call my own. I had an actual bed. It was a miracle.
She smiled. "Our luck got this much better. I bought this place using lottery money! We won 1 point 5 million dollars...." She smiled brightly!
" For real!" I said elated.
" no not really..." My mom said. What a let down. I get my humor from her.
" so... Where did you get the money from." I pressed.
She looked guilty. She was hiding something.
" Honestly, right now ...that's not that important. Think about it. You have a roof over your head so it's completely fine. Just be gratefull."
Well damn. Hiding something? I pushed it away from my mind and smiled the fakest I could manage.
I trudged upstairs to find my new room. As amazing as it was all I wanted to do was lay down to sleep and forget about my problems that last only when Im awake.
To say I was out like a light would do no justice as to describe how fast I went asleep.
The next Monday morning I woke up. I reached my arm to my phone to turn off the alarm. I realized then that I was not in the couch but on my own bed. I stretched and hastily got out of the bed.
My Back held a strange relief in it. So this is what life was like not living off of a couch? Hmm. I could get used to this.
Taking a moment to stretch once more, I ran to my closet. I picked out a high low collar shirt. A pair or denim short shorts and a pair of vans. Setting that aside I ran to the bathroom to take a shower. My body craved the relaxation I knew I would get once the pellets of water would hit my body. Finally finished and clean I put on the out fit I layed out. Deciding I was too lazy to do my hair I let it air dry into soft honey like curls.
I bounced down the steps to the kitchen. Looking into the cabinets I realized there was nothing. I frowned. No food? Poop. I needed food to function. I smiled inwardly as I thought about how I was lucky enough to have a fast metabolism. Other wise I would have probably been dead based on my lack of proper food choice. As if on que, my mother walked into the kitchen.
" Hi honey! Get ready, you have school." She laughed at the looked I seemed to have pulled.
"School. As in S.C.H.O.O.L ! How am I gunna get there?"
With a suggestive look she smirked. " I've made those arrangements already. BE TE DUBS - " she began but I cringed at her choice of words. I let her continue anyways. " I got Mr. Hottie La Mottie With the Swimmers body to take you! You're welcome doll."
I rolled my eyes. Of course she would do that. " stop talking. You got that line from Hannah Montana -.-"
She smiled and said , " Poopy head! Your ride is here!" We were just weirdos.
" Bye mom." I have her a hug and walked out side to his convertible car door.
In the car, I slipped in Hunter's car soundlessly. Giving him a bright smile. He obviously looked tired and dull. As of he hasn't gotten one drop of sleep that night. Okay then....
As loud as a voice I could muster, I yelled , "GOOD MORNING MISTER HUNTY POO!"
Taking a long look at me he said.
" I'm not in the mood... Okay." Instantly I shrunk back.
" Sorry." He said. " I didn't mean to come off so harshly."
I simply shrugged him off. He wants to be a idiot. Fine. Sighing I turned on the radio.
The ride was a long uncomfortable one. I thought to my self for a moment, " Why don't people get me." I've been called a couple of things in my day... A weirdo. A skater. I've been mistaken for a stoner because of my outrageous and wild actions. It irked me that he felt as though I was an annoyance. I mean... I knew I could be annoying but words hurt. I decided to keep my mouth shut and stare out the window.
I couldn't help but notice how his eyes lingered from my face back to the street. Sighing I looked out the window. All was silent until all of the sudden my phone went off. The ringtone of "ice ice baby" played through the speakers. Giving hunter a sheepish smile, I answered the phone.
"And who am I allowing this impeccable honor of speaking to at the moment." I smiled slightly.
An all to familiar voice played back to me. " Why! Have you forgotten us already! Woe is me for you have bashed our friendship and ruined everything!"
PFFF. Over dramatic. Full on grinning I replied, " Dude.Shut up. "
I pulled the phone away from my ear. John was yelling to loud. Profanities were spitting everywhere. I just sat there laughing away.
" Are you done?" I said. He laughed a deep laugh. This kind of laugh would give me chills back then, and it hurt me to admit that some where deep with in me , those chills still wished to come free. I wouldn't ever act on it though. He deserves a good person, who's smart an has a lot of money and is more mentally stable. Yep that what he needed.
" Listen, any chance you can come by soon with Kim. I miss you guys. You could even meet my friends!" I said looking over to Hunter. He gave me a smile that I returned.
John sounded hopeful." Of course! Even if you were in china, I'd find a way to fly over to you. I'd dig through the dirt Joe. Your important." I blushed. I could feel the heat spread around me.
" your corny ya know that Johnny" He laughed at the nickname. " I've got to go but ill catch you later alligator!"
I smiled and replied, " yep.byeee"
After hanging up I couldn't keep a smile off my face. He was just to cute.
Hunter interrupted my happy thoughts. "Little Mrs. Sunshine! We're here. At school."
