-Luis POV-

"Ahhh where should we go? There's more restaurants here than there are houses!" Abs said while she was taking in the town, her face showing just how shocked she was. "Well we probably make a decision soon or Max is going to eat one of us," Rose stated sarcastically before she nudged Max, he pushed her back jokingly.

"Come on guys, what kind of food are we feeling?" I asked when the others had started to get a little rowdy. "Um, pizza?" Max suggested, and everyone sighed collectively, "All you fucking eat is pizza!" Caleb smacked his brother on the back of the head, Maxwell rubbed his head from the inflicted pain, a pout growing on his face as usual.

"I really need something a little more healthy, I've had wayyyy too much crap this week!" I laughed, and the crew quickly started spitballing ideas. "That diner there has pizza and a pretty diverse menu, I saw it online the other day." Flynn was pointing at a small but popular-looking store, nearly all its tables were taken. I looked back at the others to gauge their opinions on the place, no one disagreed so I lead our group over.

Surprisingly it wasn't that hard to get a seat, Flynn had flagged down a waiter, they were wearing a pin with they/them pronouns on it. They wore a white business shirt that brought out their dark chocolate skin and platinum white dreads that had been pulled up into a large bun that sat atop their head. It was a pretty normal interaction though I couldn't help but notice that Flynn and our waiter who had given the name Jeremy, held each other's eyes subtly, not as subtly as they hoped since I had seen it. 'Are they flirting?' I pondered the chances of this but stopped when we were asked what we wanted.

I had ordered a Greek salad, Flynn a cheeseburger, and Maxwell obviously got himself a Hawaiian pizza like the heathen he is. Rose and Abby both ordered the steak and chips, for drinks we settled for a jug of water once Jeremy had said it would be cheaper than six separate drinks.

"Are we just here for lunch or do we have time for some shopping?" Rose queried as she sipped from her drink. "Well, I wanted to see if there was a record store here, if there is they'll have some good stuff since this town is pretty old." I stated and Caleb jumped in, "I'm not fussed with what we do next." he shrugged his shoulders.

Flynn was about to say something, probably what he wanted to do next when Jeremy asked who ordered the steaks and chips which made everyone look up in their direction. As our plates were set in front of us I noticed once again a small interaction between Jeremy and Flynn, when Flynn's burger was placed down Jeremy gave a small jerk of his head- a nod. 'The heck was that?...I'll just ask about it later.' I pushed the thought away and started eating my salad.

Between bites we had started discussing tomorrow's plans, "I haven't been to the gun range yet, could we check it out before we go?" Maxwell was munching on a slice as he asked the group, "We've already been though, maybe Rose and I could take a hike in the morning while you're at the range?" Abby suggested, Caleb asked could join their group which they agreed to.

Max and Caleb were arguing over what to do next, Flynn was rolling his eyes at them so I decided to step in. "Okay how about Max and I go to the gun range in the morning, Rose, Abby and Caleb can go for a hike during that time. Later we'll meet up again for lunch, head out for horse riding lessons with Flynn then we can all cool off at the dam before we pack up and drive back home."

It was quiet for a moment as the crew pondered the plan I had suggested but everyone agreed it was a good idea so we went back to eating and talking to each other about trivial things like what kind of cat we would all be based on our personality traits or who would beat Flynn in a proper life or death fight.

Most of us had finished our food, Abby and I were still picking at ours. "I swear on Caleb's life that that's the best pizza I've ever had! the pineapple was kinda funky though." Maxy had a hand rubbing his stomach as he swore on his brother's life which earned him a slap to the back of the head, "That's not for you to swear on you dick!" Caleb scowled and we all laughed, Rose was pointing at Max and mocking his reaction to being hit which made us laugh all over again, Max was just pouting again but there was happiness shining in his eyes.
