Natsuki eagerly turned the page of her manga. Koharu had just seen Michiko cheating on her - what would happen next? As Natsuki's eyes scanned the next page of her manga, she heard a loud knock on the door. Her head jerked up. "Come in," she called.

The door gently swung open, and Monika stood there resolutely. "Hey, Natsuki. I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to be going out to dinner with Sayori. I'll be back in-" she glanced down at the watch on her wrist, "-oh, about an hour."

"Oh, yeah, okay," Natsuki said. "Well, bye."

"Goodbye," Monika responded with a smile, and she slipped out into the hall. A few moments later, Natsuki heard the slam of the front door.

Natsuki returned to reading her manga, but her mind kept wandering to Sayori and Monika. Monika looked pretty dressed up. I wonder what restaurant they're going to. They make a cute couple.

After almost a full hour of this, Natsuki sighed and slapped her manga down on her nightstand. She couldn't concentrate. Instead, she just lay down silently on her bed and stared at her room. Last weekend, Monika had fulfilled her promise to take Natsuki to the store to get some things for her room. Now, the once boring beige walls were painted pastel pink, and a small, inexpensive hot pink lamp sat on Natsuki's nightstand. She also now had a fluffy rug the color of marshmallows on the floor next to her bed, a cabinet, and a small desk meant for homework in the corner. Natsuki glanced at the desk and smiled, because sitting on it was the most beautiful, shiny silver laptop she had ever laid eyes on. Natsuki had tried to refuse Monika, but by the time she was starting to list all the reasons why she didn't need it, Monika had already gotten into line to buy it. She wouldn't budge. Natsuki would never admit it, but she was glad.

She really has a lot of money if she could spend it on all this all at once without worrying, Natsuki thought to herself as she looked around her room. Remembering what was on the wall behind her, she turned around and smiled. She had put the picture of her and Yuri back up after they'd finished painting; she wasn't going to move it, ever.

Looking at the picture gave Natsuki an idea. She reached towards the nightstand to grab her phone, but then she decided not to. It'll be a surprise. Grinning, she slipped on her shoes and left the house, walking in the direction of the small flower shop.

Ten minutes later, Natsuki was walking on the sidewalk again, a bouquet of purple roses in her hand. Not only did these flowers instantly remind Natsuki of Yuri, the meaning was also perfect; purple roses were a sign of enchantment and love at first sight. Natsuki beamed when she thought of the look on Yuri's face when she gave them to her. Striding confidently up the steps to Yuri's house, Natsuki took a deep breath and raised her hand to knock on the door.

But something else caught her eye. Natsuki peered more closely through the front window. She could hear muffled laughter from inside. Yes, there was Yuri, sitting on the couch - but she wasn't alone. Natsuki squinted her eyes. She could only see the back of their head. The person had an elegant brown bun on the top of their head, adorned with a small white bow - wait - wasn't Monika wearing the same hairstyle?

Tears welled in Natsuki's eyes. She angrily wiped them away and started tearing the flowers, then finally throwing them on the porch once they were shredded. She stormed away from the house, her mind a whirlwind of her own mocking voice.

You should have known Yuri didn't really like you. You're too rude, angry, and blunt...

You were so naive to believe Monika...

Monika probably never liked you either - she's probably going to kick you out of the house as soon as she gets home because she's realized how annoying and ungrateful you are...

Yuri likes Monika better...

Yuri likes Monika better...

YURI LIKES MONIKA BET-

Ignoring the fact that she was in a neighborhood at dark, Natsuki let out a scream. Was it full of rage, or pain? Agony, or fury? Natsuki couldn't sort out her own emotions. All she could do was go home - no, not home, Monika's house - lay down in her bed, and hope it was all a dream.

Just one painful, outrageous, agony-filled dream
