For the third time, the Intelligence invaded Elias's mind, more intense than ever before. But this time Elias was ready. He made a mental shield around his thoughts, and, for a minute, was able to hold it off. But the strain was too great, and Elias began to falter. From his toes up, the Intelligence slowly paralyzed him until he could barely even see or hear. It went on for what felt like hours. Glael was not affected, not being human. Voss did not know this, however, and attempted to decapitate him. Glael retaliated quickly, and they once again fought. It was a long and drawn out battle, and an even match. Every one of Voss's strikes were blocked by Glael, and vice versa. Only one or two hits were actually made, and the combatants never tired. Voss swung, and his grip slipped, and Glael sent the sword-staff flying. He knocked Voss to the ground, and put the point of his sword to Voss's neck.
Elias, though, was not winning. He was dying in a most horrible manner. He began to let go, but then some feeling came back into his hand. The hand with the gun. He, with much effort, lifted his gun and fired.
