As Elias came around, he noticed three things. First, that he wasn't dead. Second, that the skyship he was standing on was completely decimated. And third, that he was missing a shoe on his left foot. The first two things were far more important, however. How the heck did he manage to survive? The force of the explosion should have torn him apart, or the flames incinerate him. It was almost impossible that he would survive. Yet somehow he did, unless heaven was identical to the rift world. If he had been inside the ship, the thick metal plating would have protected him. Wait. That meant that there were some really angry guards still alive somewhere down there. And that also meant that there were some innocent survivors left too! And if Glael was correct, then they should be restored to their former selves! Glael! Where was he? Was he dead? And what about Voss? Where did they go? His first two questions were answered shortly after. A pile of rubble suddenly erupted, and Glael flew out, his sword held high. He brushed off the dust, and came over to Elias.

"I knew you could do it! I just knew it!" He said happily.

"But Voss, where is he?" Elias responded.

"Come look." Glael lead Elias to the place he had flown out of, and there was Voss, lying dead on the ground. He was bleeding heavily.

"So there was some human left in him after all," Elias mused. Glael interrupted him. "Remember how I told you that if the Intelligence was destroyed the soul-sucked people would return to normal? Well, there is an alternative. The Intelligence may have left a mark on their souls, making each into a highly intellectual, highly evil superhuman. They will want revenge, and it will come swiftly. We may yet find more allies, but one thing is certain.
"There is a war coming, and we best be ready."
