The Intelligence was not in the main hall, where it had been before. Elias had gotten separated from Glael, and had immediately gone to the uppermost room. It was empty now, but there was a hole in the great glass ceiling, as if something large had broken through it. Elias knew that was where he had to go. Being a former rock climber, it was relatively easy for Elias to scramble up a column, swing on to an iron girder, and climb out of the hole. He cut his hand on the glass, but ignored the pain and pressed on.

"Looking for something?" a voice sneered. Elias whipped around and there was Voss, holding a large gun in one hand and his staff in the other. He was wounded where Glael had stabbed him, but that didn't make him any less threatening. Elias fired his gun, but just before it made contact, Voss split into millions of metal shards and they flew, as a group, to behind Elias. There they reformed into Voss, who raised his own gun to shoot.

Suddenly, Glael came out of the sky and tackled Voss, knocking the gun out of his hand. Glael snatched it off the ground and tossed it off the skyship.
A chill went down Elias's spine. He turned around and there it was, rising over the side of the glass dome.

The Intelligence.
