After seeing Kuroo, you couldn't help but think what a small world it really is. Who would have thought that even though you left high school, you'd still be able to see old acquaintances and friends. First, running into Daichi again and now, Kuroo, it was nothing short of a miracle. Or perhaps a cruel twist of fate? Only time will tell, but for now you just enjoyed the fact that you didn't have to start a new chapter in a new city completely alone. You had people you could rely on and turn to when you needed help.
You found the cafe to be super peaceful and a great place to get the creative juices flowing. Just the sheer amount of people passing on the street and the many patrons of the cafe, gave you tons of ideas and motivation. You sketched a wide variety of characters. You would also take some time to just sketch the street outside, giving yourself a break from drawing characters.
The cafe had a nice atmosphere that helped you to relax and feel comfortable just being in there. The coffee was amazing, it was something you knew you'd be back for frequently. The taste of the delicately hand-drip coffee intertwining with the slight milk and notes of vanilla was more than enough to get you hooked.
While you were just hanging out at the cafe, Kuroo would occasionally glance over at you to check on you. In his eyes, even though you were just sitting there by yourself, the way you seemed so absorbed in your art was stunning. It reminded him of how dedicated to the Karasuno boys volleyball team you were back when he first got to know you. It was during the summer of his third year of high school, the Tokyo teams were having their annual summer training camps. But this time, coach Nekomata decided to invite Karasuno up to join them as well; especially since he was impressed with how the team played during golden week. Karasuno was filled with a bunch of unpredictable and excitable players, but behind them were two girl managers that helped keep them in line.
One was rather quiet but did things behind the scenes to help support the boys, while you the second manager would thrust yourself in to help the boys. He later learned that you had played volleyball but decided to retire in high school, which explained why you weren't afraid of whipping the more eccentric players into shape. You were firm and supportive when it came to volleyball, but you were also caring and kind to the boys off the court. During the training camp, he was surprised yet again when you would join in the side practices after the normal activities had finished. Koushi had explained to him that you were a pretty well-known libero in the Miyagi prefecture, your skills almost on par with Nishinoya. Seeing your focus and the smile you had on your face while you played was engraved in his mind, an image he would never forget. The look of pure joy and enjoyment of the sport he also held dear to his heart. The same look he saw during that training camp was mirrored on your face with your pencils and sketchbook in front of you.
"Oi, Kuroo! Can you take order 13 to their table?" Kuroo's coworker waved his hand in front of Kuroo's face to catch his attention.
Kuroo blinked and looked over at his coworker, "Sorry, what was that?" He was so lost in thought that he didn't hear anything his friend was saying.
